Gravity Bugs / Issues

You just gave Lucid an idea for Gravity accessory store - "removable windows covers, for those cold winter trips when your windows don't roll up!"
They can't even manage to keep the all weather mats in stock, these would be in even higher demand! 🙂

Resurfacing this issue to say that I just completed a road trip and had the same issues with the left pad. Starting or canceling DD requires multiple presses most of the time, but occasionally works on the first press. The same goes for changing DD speed or distance. I’ve never had a problem with the buttons failing to trigger for reboots, though. Software or hardware - who knows?
Same issue and seems to be degrading with current road trip. Can’t imagine it’s a hardware issue given the number of folks who have had it for a while, but who knows?

I was in record as saying mine worked very well for many months. Now…not so much and it’s only the left one that’s an issue (right up until I typed that and now I am sure my right one will stop working tomorrow…or maybe my right touch pad will now roll up my rear passenger window!).

I think it’s definitely possible - and I’d actually call it probable - that bottom buttons don’t actuate as well as the top 4.

Still, I had way more trouble raising/lowering the speed in DD on the left pad, than I have raising/lowering the audio volume in the same positions on the right one. That wasn’t evident until I used DD a lot over the last few days.

My hope is that things can be software tuned. In a recent video from Driven Car Reviews that featured the chief Gravity engineer, it was mentioned that they were hearing feedback from owners about the pads. However, the conversation was more about clicking from the edges and not overall responsiveness.
I really believe there’s one “button” that moves for each touch pad. The capacitive portion senses what action you want to the bottom two “buttons” are just different colored plastic on the same capacitive d-pad. That’s my sense in messing around with it.

Appreciate the kinds words @Grav8yTraveler.

It’s incredibly frustrating - and I am fine being an early adopter. The software and fob issues were far preferable to “al fresco” rear seats.

That said, Lucid service has been great and I am very much hoping to connect with them in the morning and get the car in as soon as we return.

I do love the car. It’s frustrating and cold (right now) but I can’t quit it. It’s a complex relationship, albeit unhealthy, at times. 🤣

Mine is due in December. We road trip every 2 months (next one is late-Dec). But for at least the first trip we're gonna drive the Macan again. I wanna give the Gravity a good workthrough near home before I trust it on a trip. It's a shame, but that just makes the most sense right now.

Having a great alternate car does make that easier, of course, even though it's software bugs also highly frustrating.

I had the same thing happen on Saturday.

Same here. My car is in for a THIRD time with this issue. Brought car in in August for DD issue, determined to be software related. Brought again for this issue in October after the 3.3.7 update DD never engaged no matter how many times I pushed the button, they ended up replacing the steering wheel. Got the car back, it would’ve random between one click and 11 clicks to get DD to engage and disengage. Can is back in again with most likely another steering wheel replacement. Was told they’re ordering other components but will report back once I get the car back.

Anybody else constantly getting “vehicle offline” in their mobile app?
Just got my Gravity delivered yesterday afternoon. This happened to me last night around midnight PDT. Car was connected to my home's WiFi. I restarted app - didn't fix it. I disabled WiFi - didn't fix it. I re-enabled WiFi - then eventually worked. Will keep monitoring if it happens again and see what works.

They’re likely wasting steering wheels if that’s the fix. It’s got to be software (I think) or else they have a seemingly large batch of bad steering wheels, which is harder to believe.

They seem biased against the Gravity. They said that the second row seats have to be folded flat to get into the third row. That’s not true - there’s a large button on the side of the second row seats that automatically slides them forward. Also the interior is much nicer than the Vistiq, which isn’t even close to the EX90. Also, there’s no way the sound system is better in the EX90. I’m not a Lucid fanboy by any stretch (see many of my prior posts), but this feels like a hit piece.
I own a Volvo XC90 (not EX90) and a Lucid Gavity GT, and so far I have to agree that the Volvo sound system sounds better to me(and my kids). It's possible the EX90 has a very different sound system than then XC90, but I doubt it. *I'd like to sell my Volvo, but I can't until the Gravity is more reliable. I'm hoping their executives realize how unacceptable this level of bugginess is in any vehicle, let alone a $120k vehicle. I can't have my wife and kids driving a car in the snow that might not turn on. Reminds me on 1980's Jaguars - you needed to own two since one was always in the shop.

A good workthrough isn’t super helpful because the issues happen randomly and at any time. I’ve had no real issues other than minor bugs and frunk issues and then boom, my window doesn’t work.

I think this is the core challenge for Lucid. It’s somewhat consistent issues but not consistent across cars and/or cause so it seems to be taking an inordinate amount of time for their teams because it’s hard to troubleshoot anyway, even harder with few constants.

95% certain it's software. I've had this happen at times and it's either corrected itself on the next drive or a reset has fixed it. Although, it's been extremely solid for me for a while now (touch wood)

I know people dismiss the software woes and say "live with it, this is to be expected" but this issue right here shows the ripple effect that poor software has. How many people are reporting back to Lucid that the steering wheel isn't working that then needs to be serviced only to have the wheel replaced and the problem not be fixed because it was never a hardware problem in the first place but some random software bug. As a result, it's taken up a service spot in an already overwhelmed Service Center network.

A few issues that are annoying me right now:

Door Handles are presenting erratically and sporadically. I seem to have the most trouble with the two passenger side handles. Sometimes they present, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they don't present but pushing on them can make them present. Other times not. I had a related issue the other day with the passenger rear - when it didn't present, I had to use the interior release to open the door and let my daughter in. But then when we started driving, there was a wind noise coming from her door, as though it were still ajar or the window was down, which it wasn't. We had to pull over and finally realized that the window must not have "burped" down when the door opened, so when we closed the door it got stuck outside the weatherstripping. We rolled the window down, closed the door, then rolled it up to resolve the issue. It exhibited the same behavior when we got out later, and even put a little scrape on the trim around the window due to the pane rubbing it. I hope that will buff out?

My Key Fob is acting pretty erratically, and lately I've had to just use the key card to start the car. I got a warning yesterday (real or no?) that the key fob battery is low. I've had the car a month. Also, the key fob does not appear to be able to lock or unlock the car at all. I don't know if this is related to the battery or not. It would be very frustrating to know that the battery is dead after a month.

Preheating the car with the app is not working reliably at all. In fact, I'm not sure it's working at all. It looks like I've turned the seat and steering wheel heaters on, but when I get in the car things are not warm and when I use my customized button to heat the seats it does not appear they were on at all.

Easy Entry for the front seat is so, so erratic. Sometimes it moves, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes when it doesn't I can use "restore" to put it back in position, but most of the time that button is greyed out or not there so I have to do it manually.

One small annoyance with my delivery service center: They installed a front license plate holder but didn't give me screws. I just got my permanent tags and had to order screws on Amazon. The ones on the back are pretty specific (black with allen key heads) so I hope I ordered the right ones for the front to match.... not the end of the world but just, grrr, come on.

I have been following all the reported bugs in this thread, and I have experienced all of them.

I have had the car for 40 days and driven ~1100 miles. If I was diligent about reporting all the bugs,
I would have called Lucid service 20-25 times already.

So far I have been too busy, and just hoping "this is a SW bug which will get fixed soon."
It is possible that there are HW bugs too, and I am just ignoring them because the SW is so buggy
that it is hard to pinpoint a HW bug.

I am thinking that Lucid's QA team definitely knows about these bugs (and perhaps more)
and they decided to ship the vehicles anyway. Really disappointing.

Yep, sucks that they released a buggy car even after they delayed ramp up by almost a year, you would think the delayed ramp would have motivated them to make sure software was solid. Nope….thats too much to ask.

Or worse, it's a sign how much they're struggling. Delaying a new model from a start-up desperately needing revenue is not a decision they'd take lightly. Should tell us how bad it was 6 months earlier when they decided it had to be delayed half a year. And how much they had to fix just to get to this point. Yikes. 😳

We're putting a lot of faith in this company, and it's really getting tested.

New glitch today: pulling the window switch up lowered the window.
I experienced a variation of this using the "Crack all your windows to ventilate your cabin" feature in the app. Each window went down a crack as advertised. Then I tried closing the windows using the same app function. 3 of the windows went up. Driver's side rear went down.
