If just for security purposes alone. They have a lot of enemies. Same reason Trump and Putin walked so close together on that airway, so if one of them got droned, they both got droned.

I'm not a fan of the House of Saud, but, they're just investors and promoters, their culture/morals aren't part of the car.

Honestly though, if you’re not sharing a Spotify account or whatever, I’m still flabbergasted about why this is occurring to only you. I wouldn’t even know where to begin looking, other than the Lucid account.

Since it also happens when listening to a USB stick, it doesn't seem that it would have anything to do with the sharing streaming accounts. And we almost always listen to different sources: him to Spotify and me to Tidal.

All I can figure is that it has something to do with having three cars on the same account. Maybe Lucid can handle two cars, but bandwidth limitations or some other factor makes a third vehicle overload something somehow?

My partner and I are both like @Bunnylebowski in that we take listening to music in our cars seriously. And we have two of our cars on the road at the same time quite often. This is not a minor annoyance.

Even though you use different music sources do the cars use the same credentials for any of them, like Tidal? Maybe its doing something in the background. I've seen Tidal get upset if someone uses the same non-family account twice like home/car but I've only seen it when both are trying to play music.

Forgive my ignorance as I don't own one but can't you create another account? Or is it worth trying turning off mobile/internet access to the 3rd car completely and simultaneously try the 2 Gravities as a test? I assume its consistent - maybe you could do that in the driveway.

Just spit-balling and watching this particular problem. Really seems silly that Lucid would not know. I feel your anguish.

You were able to drive the car, but you just lost app connectivity?

Yes, car functioned normally. Opened with the fob , changed to drive position and went into drive no issues. Added 110kw in 52 minutes.

Lucid sets up the account and populates it with the cars upon delivery. I have asked them about setting up different accounts for each car but have not heard back from them.

I'm not sure you can terminate the car's connectivity to Lucid. In any case, I don't know how to do it.

Man this quite the quagmire, as you’ve essentially proved it must be something to do with your profile linked to your lucidmotors.com account, as guest profile doesn’t misbehave. But can you save any preferences to guest account? For the Air when I’d have loaners it would remember my seat settings, Tidal log in, etc. Could a workaround be to just only use guest profile and set it up as if it was yours? Or are there functions you’d lose if you kept the car in guest. And if you’re in guest profile, does your partner’s profile in his Gravity work with the audio or does he still get drop outs? Just spitballing ideas since thus far Lucid has not been of much use on this problem you’re having.

Were I you, I'd be getting pretty forceful about someone at Lucid helping you with setting up different accounts. The software bugs are something the service organization can't do anything about. But transferring one vehicle to a different account, as though it were sold? That seems straightforward enough.

Here's some facts. This car should be much better at this price point and at this point in it's development and delivery cycle. Tesla and Rivian never needed to advertise because the products spoke for themselves.

Disagree, Tesla had first mover advantage with a CEO who is outspoken and has a cult. Rivian came out with a more popular SUV than sedan. If they made a Sedan, they would have been in a worse position than Lucid, having driven a Rivian.

I"ll see what settings I can store in the guest profile. But yesterday I found that when you switch out of the guest profile you have to enter the PIN to drive. So that would add another step if my partner wants to go to his profile. And we already have several steps we have to go through to get underway:

1. Switch the cars back to the streaming source we use, as one car defaults to "Radio" and the other to "Sirius" upon power up. And we can't do this just by pressing the Spotify or Tidal button, because that's what the system already shows as engaged. We have to pull up a library to find a song we have recently played from the desired source to get back to that source.

2. Switch the navigation maps back to our preferred "north up" orientation because they default to direction of travel upon power up (something our Air doesn't do). And you can't do this just by pressing the "north up" button, because it's already showing as engaged. You have to toggle between 2D and 3D images to get back to "north up".

3. Often have to reset the climate controls to deal with the "Arctic blast".

4. If it's nighttime, we have to deal with the accent lighting's having turned itself back up to full brightness and switched to white (which is hard to take in the car with the Yosemite interior). And that doesn't just mean going into the Lucid Vibes menu and rotating the rotary brightness knob. It means turning the lighting completely off and then back on, at which time the system comes back on with both the color and brightness we had previously set.

There is no such thing as simply getting in these cars, putting them in gear, and driving off with the same settings we used the last time. We're five months in with the first Gravity, and every passing day makes these cars more annoying to use.

Today I found one more potential reason for the black screen / unresponsive Gravity.

I was trying to unlock the car using the key card on the driver side door pillar.
At the same time, my wife walked in from behind and the keyfob in her purse unlocked the car.

Due to this, the card on the door pillar locked the car within 2 seconds.
This rapid unlock/lock sequence resulted in the black screen.

We walked away, got a coffee and came back after 15 mins.
I just let the fob do its thing (we had left the key card inside the car by mistake).
Everything worked fine after that.

I think Lucid deserves unrelenting criticism for its software. But that doesn't mean we have to pretend the vehicles aren't selling.

After my frustrated post this morning I spent a couple of hours in the garage getting the black Gravity gussied up for a day trip we're taking it on tomorrow. And I kept thinking about how beautiful it is: the sleek but aggressive lines, those massive eye-catching brakes with the huge Aether wheels, an elegantly understated and absolutely gorgeous interior, space galore with handsome seats that don't look like Barcaloungers missing their velour, one of the best dash layouts in the business . . . .

Lucid did so much right with this vehicle, both with what the eye can see, what the hand touches, and what the soul feels when putting it down the road. Somehow this is a new company that has more collective memory of what fine automobiles used to be about and that so many other more-storied carmakers have forgotten or deliberately abandoned.

The constant browbeating from the software is just such a disappointment for someone who wants so badly to love this car unreservedly.

Couple of different bugs, some are new (to me) but I’ve seen others discuss way up thread and am wondering if anyone figured out how to “fix” them…I’ve had the fob issues off and on.

1) App - Vehicle Offline - never happened to me before until earlier this week. Now it’s offline much of the time. Hasn’t changed any settings so no idea what’s up.

2) Fob and Profile - about five times this week the fob unlocked the car, but I got in, drove off and realized it was on a guest profile. Had to stop and put in my pin to get my profile on. What’s up with that?

3) Fob proximity not working consistently - after weeks of everything be pretty good, fob is now about 70/30 to unlock (70% of time it works). The other times it is either totally unresponsive - even with buttons. OR, I can unlock it with the fob button and get in and drive - so fob authenticates to drive. Have tried battery reset and even a new battery just to check - neither has really fixed the issue. Of course, it mainly happens when I have 4+ people waiting to get in. Happens less frequently by myself. So weird and embarrassing.

4) Music pausing - I think this is a post 3.3.9 bug. Every couple of minutes music pauses for a quick second then starts again. Doesn’t always pause, but sometimes.

I agree 100% with what @hmp10 said a few posts ago about so much being amazing about the car and at the same time, it seems like things get much better after an update and then degrade/regress.

Fob is 1,000% better than in August, but still not quite there. I am not sure there’s a lot more they can/will do with it, but I really hope they get it to 99.999% OR get PAAK 99.999% very soon.

Our black Gravity was totaled this morning in an accident. I won't go into any details here, but the structural integrity of Lucids wins kudos again.

So we've already ordered another Gravity Dream Edition, this one in White/Tahoe/Aether (22-23") wheels. It's factory-gated already and should get here in a few weeks.

Our first Gravity DE was delivered the last day of Q2. Our second Gravity DE was delivered almost the last day of Q3. Our third Gravity DE should arrive right around the end of Q4.

There were improvements between the first and second: no second-row seat rattle, no signs of drive unit failure, no HUD screen distortion, GPS/navigation functioning (mostly), better fit on some exterior trim. Of course, the software gremlins still show up in full force, but the hardware has significantly improved.

So, let's see what end-of-the-year production brings . . . .

Nope, don't have full replacement coverage, so there's going to be something of a hit. Plus I just lost the investment in the full PPF wrap and the radar installation on the black Gravity (and the $984 rear tire I had put on two weeks ago due to a nail puncture.)

It does, however, give us the opportunity to change a few things about which we had developed doubts. My partner had decided that the Yosemite interior was a bit too bright to live with, while I had really come to like the Tahoe interior in our other Gravity that I had at first disliked. Plus I was worried all along about the Purluxe not holding up as well as leather, given the number of reported tears in both Airs and Gravities.

Also, as terrific as the black looked after a spit polish, it showed everything that touched it -- even fingerprints on the door handles and door edges from pushing the doors closed. And I found that the aerodynamics of the Gravity coat the rear end with dust and black soot from other cars' exhausts like a magnet attracts iron filings. White might give a little respite, at least from the dust and fingerprints.

I had a White Dream on order with the Yosemite, but took my Aurora Green GT with Ojai, since it came up first. The Ojai goes really well with the green.
