That's what I was suspecting, but I just wanted to be sure others weren't seeing something similar. However, the satellite maps seems to be functioning normally now, which they weren't during the first two months when the GPS was out.

When it was out before, Lucid concluded it was a software issue unique to our car. I'm now thinking it more likely that it's a component issue, perhaps with a chip or perhaps with something else (antenna? wiring? . . . .).

However, there's still the question of why the maps are working if the GPS is out?

I’m guessing it’s your TCU still. That manages GPS, cell, etc. If it is “on the fritz” it would cause your GPS and possibly (but not necessarily) cell service to be all wonky.

Also the volume slider on the display behind the wheel randomly doesn't appear.

Yes, and the problem is mostly fixed now. It has stray error messages but it works.

If you have keycard issues *at all*, you have a center console issue.


No issues. This was only activation on the early dreams.

Not hit and miss. Switching takes about 20 seconds. It’ll get faster, but that’s where it’s at today.

Yup; provided it has your locations (if it has an address, you’re fine; if it’s a trailhead, it won’t be reliable)


Assuming you don’t have the pinched wire issue, all of that works fine.

Another question about Nav; can you use voice commands or is typing in an address required?

I haven't seen this one mentioned yet, but on 3.3.2 we find that the driver's climate control is often "greyed out" on the climate pane. Hitting sync twice takes things back to normal. I have no reason to believe this is more than just a display issue, but it's... new. I'm surprised that new bugs are showing up in existing systems. *shrug*

It’s actually a very quick fix with Lucid’s favorite service tool - the Dremel. The whole in the trim around the latch is too small (sometimes). That’s what it was for when I had the issue of frunk popping but not opening, then opening the second time.

I just realized after a few weeks that I have the exact same issue with my frunk. I hit it open the first time (regardless or whether from in the car or key fob or mobile app) and it kinda opens and then closes. The indication given though is that the hood is still open. But the second attempt and voila it opens fine. What's the best course of action for this?

Call for service unfortunately. It's a known issue thy have to address. I'm waiting on parts for mine.

Agree - call for service. I’ve had it serviced twice and I think it actually got worse after the second time. It’s just on my issues list now and I try to avoid using it.

Yeah, I forgot about that. It's just hard to keep track of all the little glitches.

Does it not appear or does it not register your push? That is, does the volume actually change?

Going back a bit, we realized it’s capacitive AND requires a push - so it’s very finicky. If you don’t get it exactly right, it’s not registered - so volume doesn’t change and so graphic doesn’t show up.

The volume changes, but the volume graphic comes and goes.

If you are asking if there is a problem with the touch pads on the steering wheel, I find them easy to use. A lot of people here and elsewhere think they're finicky, but I like that you have to push them inside the perimeter ridge instead of on that ridge. I often like to drive with my thumbs hooked over the tops of those touch pads, and I could not do that if it activated a function. It took a few passes to nail down the "feel" of just where to push, but things soon fell easily enough into the groove.

I had this on 3.3.1 as well.

Also sometimes the seat adjustment pane won’t load at all, and then neither will the Home pane unless I open the climate pane which seems to reset everything.

Sometimes, I have to tap the seat adjustment or climate menu buttons multiple times to get them to switch. Music too. They always switch, but even though the menu button is highlighted, it’s not showing the right screen and I need to tap again. Minor bug.

I honestly have no idea. I hate talking to inanimate objects, so hopefully someone else can answer that one haha.

Not new; I’ve seen that happen since a bunch of versions ago, just not all the time.

Yep, you can use voice commands. Just say, "hey, Lucid, navigate (or drive) to _____________." It doesn't require a specific address for many things. For instance, you can tell it to drive to the nearest Tesla Supercharger, or to a specific restaurant or business just by using the name of the business in many cases. And it actually gets it right most of the time -- about the same hit/miss rate as using voice command in our Teslas.

Yup. At first I thought it was just a poor design decision to not have any visual indicator of volume change. Then I saw it was there for a bit. Then it wasn't there after that.

I have found that the buttons on screen require the touch to be held slightly longer than you'd expect. I had issues with the buttons activating but a few seconds later they responded consistently by holding the press a fraction of a second longer. It's too long of a requirement compared to practically every other on screen button since the original iPhone if you ask me.

And here's the d-pad issue not registering presses. My theory is it happens a lot more in direct sunlight or when it gets warmer from the sun, but it's just a theory. It's infuriating sometimes. I can press the same cancel Dream Drive button 5 times (properly, not at the lip) before it works.

When you get it back, please let us know what the service ticket says. Mine’s been in twice for the frunk issue but it still persists.
