Gravity Bugs / Issues

The mobile tech was here yesterday. He said the mobile techs have not yet been sent what they need to reset the key fobs, although it is coming. Until then, he could not verify whether the Roswell Service Center did it.
Oh interesting, I guess it varies by region. Mine updated and was able to check the software at my home. My tech mentioned they use an android device to update it.

The gravity just let me drive all the way home from the sharks game (don’t want to talk about it) with the charge door open without making a peep. Ever.
Not when i started the car, or at any time during or at the end of my drive. I got out of the car to see the flap open in the air.
To be fair, 99.9% of all cars on the road would do the same.

Got my car back from the SC on Tuesday after 22 days in the shop. New center console allowed the software update to proceed. I have yet to not be able to go into drive when getting in the car.

A new issue popped up however. The GPS/Nav/Compass is quite erratic. My position constantly drifts and sometimes the compass flips 180° or it will show the car pointing east or west on a north or southbound road. I called the service center and they said to try a reset and give it a few days.

Are any of the GPS components affected by installing a new center console?
Noticed this yesterday… compass 180 out of phase… the second the car moves this corrects… resting north facing…

Which screen? I’m not kidding. I’ve seen it display differently on the cockpit vs pilot. Sometimes, you just need to tap the nav button and it roasted and is fine. Has worked for me.

Odd, as I know at least one person here said their mobile tech WAS able to do it. It’s another example of inconsistent communication and direction for Gravity service.

I do believe they’ll work it out, but it’s annoying.
It sounds like they’re capable, but just didn’t have the tools yet

Mobile tech did the update to the fobs at my house. They are still screwed. I have every firmware and software update currently available, except when I dropped my vehicle off at the San Diego SC this morning, apparently there yet another software update to be done to the fobs. I only brought one since I wasn't told to bring both (should have known better). I'm leaving town for 3 weeks and left them with laundry list of this including potentially replacing the HUD and the back seat. I did point out the source of the squeaking being the seat belt receiver. We will see what happens when I return. Got the same key not found message this morning just before heading there.

...

BUT - the odds of you being totally stranded seem very, very small - especially for a newer production car. Seems like most folks need to use the key card, at worst, or do the fob battery trick OR have no issue.

...
Maybe my solution is to make a little laminated card that walks someone through the reset procedures. That way my wife wont be just struck if the car/fob craps out when she's on her own. She's not likely to learn and remember the magic incantations on her own.

Vehemently disagree, i have yet to drive a car that didn’t; holler and scream at me at a minimum if the charge door was open as i prepared to put the car in drive. My mom’s genesis just makes an alert noise that its open and as you drive away, it closes it for you.
The bolt honked the horn if you opened your door with teh door open, let alone if you drive to start it.

Not sure why that statement would get a thumbs up. It’s simply untrue.

Other option is to tech her how to summon the magic manual…

I said 99.9% of cars not just EVs.

I’m confused, you couldn’t drive the car due to fob not found but still made it to the service center? 3.3.2 may not entirely eliminate “key not found” error messages but should still let you put it into drive, and those are false alerts. While this is not the definitive fix, it’s better than 3.3.1 which wouldn’t let people drive.

I have a new fob issue (I think). It is working fine, but sometimes, it doesn’t load my profile, sometimes it does. I use it to unlock with proximity, it’s the only fob I have at it shows as being connected to my profile.

Not sure what’s up, but behavior began yesterday and has persisted through a battery removal and reinsert dance.

Something I hadn’t noticed until now is the length of time it takes to switch profiles. I timed it at 22 seconds. Seems excessive to me.

Anyone else experience this?

We've been noticing it, and it seems interminable. Much slower than in our Air.

It’s a bit of hyperbole, but I feel like I could re-input my settings faster than the Gravity can load my profile…

Or, rather and, here we go again with the “why can’t they do it like Tesla” refrain.

Tesla got this one thing right from the very beginning - type in your name, any name, on the upper left corner of the main screen, make your seat, steering wheel and door mirror adjustments, and then press SAVE.

That’s it. You’re done. The last I read you can store up to twenty discrete driver profiles. We have about a dozen names in our Model X, one of them being that of an ex-boyfriend I kicked to the curb, the same year we got the car (2018). It irks my current partner to no end, but I haven’t been a$$ed enough to remove it.

Does gravity have Face recognition for profiles like Air does? It was so bad my delivery advisor couldn’t even get it to work 😂
