Gravity Bugs / Issues

Couple more issues at the end of the day today unfortunately. That said, I still love this car and what it will be when fine tuned. The majority of this is just software problems. I lost the pilot panel and rear panel, black screened while driving. The rear hatch went to close and bent the thin metal flap that is in the vehicle that allows it to latch. The service team is going to try to get me in ASAP, they will have more tomorrow on when. I want to note, they have been amazing working with me on today’s issues. Probably helps I’m super patient and I expected issues to start. But the service guy was even answering texts well past his working hours. I appreciate that, even though it was not necessary. I’m certain they will get it all fixed up for me quickly.

Got off the phone with the service team, who shared that a release for keyfob/phone as key was made available at noon today. Update will be pushed out over next few weeks, but your local Service team may be able to push something through directly if requested. Waiting for mine to happen later today, as my keyfob hasn't been recognized in car for a few days now. Only able to lock/unlock and control frunk/trunk. Have to use keycard to start car.

Well for me as of last night I can’t use the key fob or either of the key cards they gave us at delivery. I’m waiting for them to come tow my car to the service center :(

Can you unlock using the phone app, then drive with a PIN?

Fortunately Lucid eliminated the biggest hurdle with EV adoption by including native NACS with Tesla access. I am excited to hear that Plug-n-charge is working great with Gravity on Tesla Superchargers. I live in Texas, the land of Bucee’s. Now, if she wants to roadtrip to Austin or San Antonio, just swing in to a Bucee’s along the way, plug in to one of the 20+ chargers they will have, take a quick bathroom break and grab some jerky and a drink, unplug and head on. No need to route plan, no being routed to the back of a sketchy grocery store and required to access a special app on your phone, no worry of full or inoperable chargers.
That's not the biggest hurdle for me, but I'm used to road tripping CCS EVs. The Supercharger network sounds great on the surface until you start looking at how many stations are still V2 (thus unusable to non-Teslas). 660 mile gap on I-80 from NE to UT, for example. Similar on I-90 from WY to MN. I-40 has some hefty gaps too. Granted, a 300 mile gap that would be a no-go in most EVs is still reachable in a Lucid thanks to it's super range. That helps a lot. But not 400+ miles (with safety buffer, high speed, 85% DCFCs, loaded with luggage, cold weather, etc). Still waiting on Tesla to do some crucial upgrades, but at least they move faster than the rest. Happy to see they finally started filling in I-80 from Salt Lake to Reno. That was all V2 until recently as well.

But as long as it comes with an adapter, we're covered.

For purely selfish reasons, please keep the stories coming, about all the bugs, gremlins, glitches, bug-a-bears, problems and yes, “ISSHHOOOES”.

It’ll help delay me from doing something really financially ill-advised, like placing an order right now!

I really need to wait another two years. By that time, if my history in buying Teslas and a Lucid is anything to go by, the Gravity will be cheaper. It’ll also drive farther, faster, quieter and be delivered to me vastly improved. And lastly my much loved Air GT will be paid off.

How / when do you store a PIN in the Gravity? It wasn't done during our delivery orientation, as the advisor said the profiles couldn't yet be set up to work off facial recognition, and he didn't suggest any other way.

Don't know, I assumed it would be the same as in the Air!

Try and wake the car by pressing the rear trunk button. Alternatively you can wake the car using the app.

If it doesn't work DM I'll give you a method to reset

I can unlock using the phone app, but cannot drive. It doesn’t shift into gear and keeps saying key not detected. I tried everything, changing profiles, steering wheel reset, etc. and nothing works. It won’t recognize the key fob or any of the key cards. Just keeps saying no key detected.

It’s when you set up your profile.

Eh, just buy it right now and enjoy the evolution. Honestly the evolution has been the best part of the Air. It was perfect the day I picked it up and just keeps getting better. From the ones I’ve seen it’ll be a great experience to have an early DE or GT vehicle. Lucid will take care of the issues quickly and as people have noted here they already are doing great to help people.

Let me know! We did have the issue come up a couple times, but it went away after we removed the case.

Here, have another giraffe or two :)

Worked with a different case. I end up using a cupholder phone holder because I wanted to use Waze, so back to old case and just usbc cable on phone holder. Qi charging crossed off list for Service center.

V2 chargers work for me. Although not all of them. The V2s at the I5 Kettleman lounge didn’t work, but across the street @ the In&Out works. Weird. Also try some random V2s and find them not working, then drive a mile down to another set of V2s and they work fine. From what I gather. The V2s that didn’t work, were build years back. The V2s that work, were recent ones, right before they start rolling out V3s, so maybe there are differences in the V2 setup in the firmware? I now keep track of which ones work for me, so I can plan ahead for future roadtrips.
