Gravity accessories slowly appearing

Shipped from TX on Saturday and arrived MA today, which was way faster than I expected. They shipped via OnTrac, which used to be LaserShip (a last-mile around here) which had a not-great reputation for misplacing Amazon packages, but no problems with the delivery for me.

The mats shipped in an unnecessarily large box, which is surely the reason for the shipping delays. The two smaller boxes inside are empty and keep the huge box rigid. The mats are very thin and flexible, and I think they should have just been rolled in a smaller box, which is how our OEM Model X mats arrived.

The mats themselves are nice. They're a flexible, rubber-like material, fit perfectly, and anchor using the floor pucks in the carpet. In the second row they only use the floor pucks, and not the velcro dots glued to the carpet. Removing the 3rd-row mat, it was interesting to note that there is no carpet below, only a hard plastic material.

They are thinner and more flexible than the OEM mats in our Model X, and have a much lower lip around the edge. I wouldn't call them "all-weather mats" so much as "light mud mats" as the 2nd-3rd rows are definitely not going to contain a few boots' worth of melting snow. OTOH, I suppose they are more luxurious than the X mats, or at least as luxurious as rubber floor mats can be. They are almost certainly overpriced for what you get, but that's what you get with OEM accessories.

I considered posting some pics of the X in comparison, but it is so ridiculously filthy inside that it's embarrassing. It'll get detailed next month and I can post some comparisons.

I continue to have concerns about the longevity of the 2nd row sliding mechanism. It looks like it has a lot of tight-tolerance parts, and is in prime position to get lots of sand and grit. Time will tell, but I hope it is covered by my warranty.
The second row sliding mechanism sounds like a haunted house when in motion. I was told that’s “normal”, but feel like something’s going to break.

Ha! Now I know the halloween soundtrack for the vehicle.

I'm definitely worried as when tidying up for a trip I found a bunch of legos, a set of sunglasses, and a special stick inside the 2nd row seat. I guess an added bonus to the sophisticated folding mechanism is that at least it's easy to get inside and find all the lost things. The 2nd row has this plastic cowl over the front so it's hard to otherwise get in with a hand or a flashlight. (For all the problems, the single-post captain chairs on the X make tidying a snap.)

I'm going to have to thoroughly search the Gravity monthly to find all the the stuff...

I found a good fit for the watermelon holder -- 3 folding camp chairs fill the space pretty well:

Yeah, the folding forward of second row exposes a lot. Kind of surprised they didn’t try to cover/protect some of that stuff. But maybe that was their plan to make it accessible for when my kids drop their AirPods and other random stuff…
