Lucid should quickly bring over some of Tesla’s best features to the Gravity. If they did, the number of Tesla-to-Lucid conversions would rise immediately.

I’m sure many Lucid employees read this forum quietly without revealing themselves. If you’ve found my posts useful, here’s what I believe Lucid should fix right away based on my first week of Gravity ownership. These changes would make the transition from Tesla far smoother and prevent new Gravity owners from feeling frustrated during their very first days.

  • Phone as a Key – Add this feature to the Gravity as soon as possible, and make it work reliably.
  • Profile Switching – Make it much faster, or at least allow the screen and music to stay on while seats/mirrors adjust. Drivers should be able to move the Gravity even while the profile is still loading.
  • Navigation Integration – Allow addresses from Google Maps on the phone to be sent directly to the Gravity’s navigation system. Typing them in manually is frustrating.
  • Climate Control via App – Ensure the Lucid app can consistently start climate preconditioning without errors.
  • Auto-Dim Screens – Add automatic brightness adjustment for night driving. Manual control helps, but auto-dim should be standard in the Gravity.
  • Default Alerts Off – Deliver the Gravity with most alerts turned off by default. Let the owner enable them as needed, rather than being bombarded with 30+ warnings (speed, safety, face detection, airbag, etc.) on the first drive home.
  • Microphone Quality – Fix the poor call audio quality where the other party can barely hear the driver.
  • Accurate Navigation ETA – Even if routing isn’t perfect, at least provide reliable arrival-time estimates. Tesla got this right, and Lucid should too.
  • Key Fob Reliability – Stop the “key not detected” messages when the fob is right there, even in the cup holder. This shakes driver confidence unnecessarily.

  • I’ve written about this and other similar issues with full details in another thread. The link to that post is below:

If you’re a former Tesla owner, or if you currently own both Tesla and Lucid like I do, please help me expand this list by sharing your experiences.

You keep mentioning this and you’ve been told repeatedly it’s coming via Apple Digital Key soon

This is a bug with the Gravity. Works flawlessly
On the Air
Climate Control via App – Ensure the Lucid app can consistently start climate preconditioning without errors.
mine works with no issues. Does your phone service have full coverage when you’re experiencing issues?
Accurate Navigation ETA – Even if routing isn’t perfect, at least provide reliable arrival-time estimates. Tesla got this right, and Lucid should too.
mine is very accurate, even with LA traffic

Yea, can we not keep posting the same thing across multiple threads. We like the feedback but not in 3 different places. Keep it contained.

Even though I live very close to you, what you’re describing just doesn’t work for me. My phone has full signal, and it still doesn’t work—even when I’m on Wi-Fi at home.

I keep repeating this because I wanted to build a separate list in this thread. No offense. And thank you as well for replying to each of my posts—I really appreciate it.

LA county has 10 million residents compared to your 3.2 million in San Diego. I know HERE collects info from cars to determine traffic patterns, congestion, etc. More cars sending real time data back means more accuracy. Might be a reason why LA seems more accurate because of sheer volume of drivers compared to SD sending data back.

Still similar numbers as SD when compared to LA County. Just strange that it’s not accurate for you as I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how accurate it is, give or take 5 to 10 mins which isn’t unreasonable for the volume of traffic LA has.

My ETA is also spot on. Literally was correct *to the minute* driving home to Cupertino from Tahoe today.

Also, @Brian_N we appreciate all your posts, but please do not post the same thing multiple times, and especially please do not do it in multiple threads. This is against the forum guidelines (see third bullet).

Some of this stuff I just don't understand. First thing I did driving home with my new Gravity was call my daughter to see first hand this microphone issue. Oops, she said I was loud and clear. You complain about to many alerts; why don't you just turn them off like I did. Lucid had two choices with alerts, either default them to on and let us turn them off or default to off and let us turn them on. They chose to default them on. Live with it. If you like your Tesla so much better why did you leave? You sound like a dude that cheated on his girlfriend and then spends everyday telling his new girlfriend how much prettier his old girlfriend was.

I guess it might seem that way 😇 But my intention isn’t just to complain — I wanted to put everything together clearly in one place.

It’s coming across as very tone deaf and irritating. You’re not the first guy to own a Tesla and buy a lucid, your the 18,000th. Furthermore, I guarantee any devs who lurk here are a million times more aware of the issues than you are.

First of all, thanks for your comment. But the issues I’ve been experiencing are recurring and affect my daily use. For example: Sometimes the key fob wouldn’t be recognized even when it was sitting in the cup holder, so I had to use the card to unlock the door. After the latest update, the key fob has become completely unusable — basically non-functional.
And just to clarify, I still have my Tesla at home. I didn’t “leave” it — I simply added an extra car. That’s all.

As a Tesla owner and future Gravity owner, I'm surprised that there's no automatic overheat protection. I'm in the Los Angeles area and I'm already having nightmares thinking about how hot the cabin will be. My wife and I have things left in the vehicle and not having to worry about them getting ruined by the heat is one of the biggest benefits to owning a Tesla. I really hope that Lucid employees read this and escalate this option.

I know that you can manually pre-condition the vehicle or whatever for 12 hours, but what owner wants to remember to set that before exiting the vehicle EVERY time. And if the concern is related to battery range decreasing, who cares....let the owners decide how they want to manage their EV range.

In the almost 4 years of owning an Air, cabin overheat has never been an issue. I'm wondering why Tesla needed to have the feature in the first place, but I have not heard a single instance of anything going wrong in the Lucid due to cabin heat. Maybe it's just not needed in the Lucid.

I leave tennis equipment in the trunk.

Probably because it was easy to do. They already had remote HVAC, adding a temperature trigger would be trivial and one more mostly useless feature they tack all over Teslas.

There are also no problems w/ Tesla cabins overheating either, in terms of affecting their systems. The feature is solely to keep the cabin cool enough that the HVAC doesn't have to work as hard to cool down the interior when its owner comes back, plus to protect any internal occupants in the off-chance that someone left their baby/pet inside by accident.

the benefit of keeping the cabin relatively cool also helps to protect any belongings one may leave in the car as well

Im Not a fan of the Tesla overheat protection. It’s great as a list item. Does little to nothing other than run down the battery and, esp for older models, make the compressor work overtime. It gets loud next to the car when things on.

I switched it off and haven’t looked back.
