For those with tinted the windshields on the entire Panoramic Glass Roof : Do you see light refraction at night; especially from other cars lights?

Hello Other Lucid Owners who also have had their one big piece Windshield of Panoramic Glass Roof Tinted,

I would like to know about your experience from having your huge one windshield tinted!

I am currently seeing two major line spots of small ridges of light refraction especially at night when car headlights shine at that exact spot.
(My Installer is telling me it's the Adhesive from XPEL XR+ and there's really nothing they can do about it. They have seen on other cars as well due to the amount of sticky glue on XPEL XR +)

Have you experienced any vision or light refraction at nights ; especially from other cars lights from any part of your forward vision windshield?

I have the same tint and have had the tint installed on two different windshields (50% and 70% VLT) I haven’t seen it but I haven’t looked that hard for this issue. Next time I’m driving I’ll look.

Thanks all for your input! Judging from your post my tint might be slightly abnormal.

I am currently seeing something similar to the photo below, however it is only about 20% of distortion / refraction of what's seen on the photo. The refraction is only on some spots on the windshield via the spots with a greater amount of adhesive's seen in my line of vision.

I have also attached a photo Further below of what I usually see in my peripheral vision from my windshield.

Should I contest with the installer saying this is not normal , and push them to re-install it?

How long have you had it installed?

When I first installed it, it looked like the photos, but once it dried, it cleared up. Took about a week in the sun to dry. It was installed in the winter.

I had it installed on August 20th, 2025, it's been about a month and a couple of days since then. I have experienced this ever since the beginning unfortunately. Installers are saying it's just due to the nature of the adhesive used on Xpel XR Plus which is conveyed via the windshields.

I have a Windshield Protective Film installed on my car and it has lines of distortion going across but prior to that WPF install, I had no issues with the clarity of the window.

I’d take it to another Expel installer and ask them what they think. Or send an email to Expel and tell them what you are seeing and what the installer is saying. I’m sure Expel doesn’t want the installer to be conveying the wrong information.

I believe each installer is certified.
