Extended warranty?

That's a nice amount of mileage on your car. Do you do a lot of road trips and stay at hotels/airbnb? I have a pathetic 6.6k miles on mine. I gotta drive more!

I would guess that the above comment is correct. It's like life insurance. It gets more expensive as you get older
Out of curiosity i requoted at 49,500 miles. And, surprisingly, the quote stayed the same. So the obvious thing for me to do is simply, wait.

Has the claim process been easy with Xcare?
I claimed a couple of times with my first Model S. The process was pretty painless. The only issue I ran into was the Tesla service center not wanting to accept direct payment from XCare, so I had to pay and get reimbursed. Reimbursement was quick as I recall.

The warranty is transferrable, so can also add to the car at resale time - the buyer of my 2015 85D bought the warranty from me, for more than I would have gotten by surrendering it but for less than an equivalent would have cost him.

I wonder if the price of the warranty changes with bands of mileage though. Maybe it's the same because you quoted a mileage that's still under 50k? Maybe it goes up at 50k and again at 75 or 100? Just guessing of course.

And I'm interested because I'll probably be in the same boat soon. I have 17k in about 6 months of driving.
