The Sapphire beat the 765LT by almost two seconds, taking top spot on the all time leaderboard. Interestingly, they say that the Trofeo R track tires are now an option for Sapphires, which I think is a welcome change. Even with the track package equipped on the Plaid, the Sapphire easily beats it in every measure!

That…was not about horsepower! It was about corner speed and the U.
Love it!

Downright abusing Tesla on those Pirelli Trofeo RS tires, now for the Taycan GT.

It’s the turning, man. When Peter drove me on that homemade track in AZ, it wasn’t the straight line that impressed me - that felt a lot like my DE. Sure, it was faster… but the feeling was the same. I can get that thrill right now, and did earlier today. The difference is minimal from a “feel” perspective in a straight line.

But the cornering… man. It’s absurd. I have never seen a vehicle that heavy plant at that speed and just stick. It almost felt like he didn’t let up on the accelerator at all, as if we’d somehow *gained* speed in the U turn.

It’s just crazy.

I would *love* to see them test it again after spending a few days with the car and really learning to trust the handling. I suspect they could’ve pushed it even harder than they did.

Yea, Allistair braked WAY too early in his run which made it seem closer than it really should have.

Yup, I thought the same. They easily could have hit it harder with some practice.

Has anyone got the Road and Track EV Performance of the Year where they compared it against the Taycan GT? This was done maybe a couple months ago even BEFORE the Pirellis (which the Porsche has stock).
