EA Megathread

Thanks for this info. Same deal here: free EA charging ended for me and I have not been back since. Charge at home since August.
and haven't been on a trip long enough to need a charge elsewhere.

Seriously, how does Lucid wallet work on an EA charger? Do I just use my CC and EA knows the drill? Need I make sure the Bear Icon is working on my phone? No clue how this is done and no info on the lucidmotors website.

Bus Driver...you mean I just plug and play as before? I guess I need to have Bear icon on my phone "on" ? I may go out and try this now!

I use the fob because the phone is terrible. Guess I need to learn how the phone / apps work ??

Based on my experience this morning, exactly. “Plug-n-play” as before. I never even opened my Lucid app to get the “handshake” and the charging started. Just to be clear, I had set up my “Lucid Charging - Base Plan” through the Lucid app a few months ago. You’ll find out more about this in the Lucid app. Go to Vehicle Information, and tap on “Upgrades”. Look under “Available” or “My Upgrades” and you’ll find a little more information about Lucid’s charging plan there. Basically all it does is allow you to continue to plug-n-play as before. You get on break on the cost of charging.

Well everything I said was wrong. I just went to the EA in King of Prussia and it WAS Plug & Play. Easy Peezy. Color me stupid.

There was a 1 hr wait line, but the security guard came over and pointed to a dozen Rivian chargers across the lot. About 8 slots were empty.

My EA experience over the past year has vastly improved. I attribute it to a variety of reasons:

1. Fewer current auto manufacturers offer EA credits, much less the 3 years that Lucid did.
2. Many stations in my area are capped at 85%, meaning shorter average charging sessions.
3. Tesla opening up Supercharger access to other brands (including Lucid).

As a result, I most often have a 0-2 minute wait to charge. Even with my ancient Model X with lifetime supercharging, I now sometimes wait 5 minutes at the most convenient Supercharger. I choose my times based on Google Maps.

Bad experiences? A while ago, I was getting the dreaded red light when I tried to charge, although moving to a different charger or calling EA would resolve it. A shout-out to Lucid SC Costa Mesa which ran diagnostics and correctly said "it wasn't us," and, in fact, I haven't had any more red-light charging issues.

Yesterday, i was limited to 58kw by a popular EA station, but I used it to get a two-mile walk in, so all is good. Ironically, I finally remembered to precondition for 35 minutes, but I jinxed my otherwise good luck.:)

I did have to open the app one time but it wasn't a big deal it just connected and powered right up, the car was already awake.
