Doors re-locking before I get to the driver’s door

I wonder if there is a solution or setting to solve this pesky problem. Just about every time I unlock the trunk, put something in there, and close the lid, the driver’s door locks again before I have a chance to get there. Then I have to wait for the system to re-detect me or even get out my phone for the door to unlock so I can get in. The same thing happens when I put the dog in the passenger rear seat, shut the door, and then go around to the driver’s door — closed! Is there something I am doing wrong, or is there a setting to adjust? Since this is the biggest “issue” I have with my ‘23 Air GT, I realize this is more of an annoyance than anything else, and it’s almost funny because it’s almost like a race, with the door usually winning right as I approach it. I don’t write in often but follow the forum regularly and I always enjoy it. I absolutely love my Air, know it is the best car I have ever owned, have had no problems at all with it, have experienced awesome customer service from Vinny, Graham, and everyone at Tyson’s, and plan on ordering a Gravity a few months before my lease is up. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I have the same problem man and have been into service multiple times. I thought I was isolated in this issue though. I’ve gotten to the point where I will go to my door, press the handles, wait for the unlock and then keep my driver side door open so I can go put things in the trunk or open my charge port or open other doors.

Service has replaced my antennas already but no luck. After being in and out of service a couple times over the issue, I’ve become too lazy to drive the hour to my nearest service center and have just dealt with it. Hopefully you find a solution!

I do the same. Never even mentioned it to service, though. One of the many quirks I just live with.

are you guys using mobile key or fob? My fob seems to keep it open longer compared to mobile key.

God, this happens all the time. Super irritating, especially in public.

I’ve also just given up and leave my door ajar if I know I’m going to open it soon after shutting the trunk or frunk.

I have the same experience. A small annoyance that I haven't complained about because I love the car and figure they are busy with more urgent issues. Geofenced passive unlock / lock would help as would a customizable timeout before auto locking the car. I think Bobby has mentioned this before in the wish list survey.

As an aside, I use mobile key with my iphone on iOS 18.2. I switched to iphone a year ago after being an Android user for 15 years. I will likely go back whenever Android auto becomes available. I'll refrain from derailing the thread with iphone negativity for now. Idk if the OP issue is related to iphone and mobile key, but I doubt it.

I just disable passive lock. Makes everything predictable, then my car locks automatically when my mobile key gets out of bluetooth range, or I just press the door handle to lock it manually....

@OP, you are simply way too slow. That's all.
All of us became Bruce Lee's speed masters with no such problems.
Smile.
