Delivery Disaster...Delayed by trucking company so we have to drop your 2k credit for studio delivery

How would you know about those clothes? Do you have any idea if someone bought them, left the tags on, wore them to a party, then returned them? In the end it doesn’t matter at all - if you get the car delivered and it is undamaged, no rock chips, no broken glass, then those miles were 100% inconsequential.

I probably would have told you to go pound sand with the request for $2k worth of freebies for the minor inconvenience, especially once the original deal was honored anyway, but I understand that everyone is outraged over everything and feels entitled to free stuff just because.

And the mileage was really 126 miles?
Yes the mileage was 126 really. Don't feel entitled to free stuff, THEY ASKED me how can they make it right and I answered them. I asked for a refund and they tried to keep the deal alive.

Your not in business I can tell by your prospective, you seem to forget or ignore the main points and that's ok but they are NOT minor to me the customer. I paid for a new car and I was not OK with them putting 300 miles on it. In reality that was just the start of this terrible purchase experience, if you can read past that maybe you can appreciate how this whole transaction is bad business. This young company is learning some hard lessons that in some cases could have been avoided. Lets not bury the headline in the one issue of putting miles on the car prior to delivery, what about all the other mess. Still on going by the way. Oh and you wouldn't have had to tell me to pound sand as I gave them a way out, I said give me my money back, they chose not to. That was a good business decision, if they can turn this around they have customer, one you wouldn't have had.

The window/door issue has actually happened to a couple of people on this forum. The frameless windows must drop about an inch for the doors to properly open/close. So if the window motor/regulator fails and will not allow window to come down that inch or so, then the door will be difficult to open/close. Some have forced the door close but not recommended.
So the update is they overnighted the part, not sure which part. They also stated there was an issue with the wiring harness that they sorted out? Hopefully new part arrives tomorrow.

Let’s hope you can get past this gross indignity and enjoy your car. My sense is that you are going to focus on the negative parts of the delivery and then get totally bent out of shape when the inevitable issues crop up (which they will, and you would know by reading plenty of threads on here).

If they said to you in the very beginning “we have the exact car you want and can get it to you at the price we agreed on but it will show 126 miles”, would you have bailed on the deal?

Your way off, never have I been rude or upset (bent out of shape) with anyone at Lucid, in fact they keep thanking me for my patience and the way I have handled these issues "to no fault of my own". As I started this thread with "I am sharing my crazy experience". That is the point of this forum no? Share your experiences with the sales, service and delivery? You don't have to like my prospective, in fact you don't even have to read this thread. Some folks just don't get it and that is ok!

Window thing happened to me. It’s a window regulator issue. Easy fix, but hard part for them to get.

Frameless doors have been around a while - see the Model S. However, for whatever reason, Lucid chose to do it for the first time on Gravity, so it’s new to them AND means it doesn’t use the same part as the Air.

Super annoying experience. Sorry you have to go through it. They ARE supposed to have loaner Gravity soon (per Tysons SC), but it’s unfortunately an early adopter issue.

Whether you got the first Gravity or one today, there are still kinks they’re working out and, in the grand scheme, very few have been delivered. Yes, more than 9, but more than a few thousand max? I don’t think so.

Which opens up the whole “at what point should they actually have started broad deliveries” that @hmp10 has brought up before.

No good answer. But with all its quirks, I still love my Gravity and now I never drive the X or R1S.
I will say, after it happened once on the GT, once it was fixed it never came back.

Ok, the moment we (Maybe I) have been waiting for! They delivered the vehicle....I hope you can appreciate the "Gravity" of the situation! It took several days to get this point. Still waiting on a couple of things like the credit and incentive refund. Hopefully that comes as expected.

One issue encountered almost immediately is when getting in the car the screens were all black. Shaking the remote and waiting a couple seconds seems to re-awaken the car. I have heard others talk about this issue as well.

Now that the delivery is completed, we can move on to report other faucets of owning the Gravity!

One thing I've learned in the past 3 weeks of driving the Gravity, is that the blank screen problem is pretty common, and that the best thing to do is wait for the screens to eventually boot up if you can.

The boot sequence/timing of the systems seems to be: driving (so cockpit screens on the left + center), camera (which you can activate, even w/ blank screens, by shifting the car in reverse), then infotainment (the right side of the cockpit + center screen). The problem is that the infotainment systems can take 30 seconds or more to boot, but they also control a lot of the non-driving functionality, like seat profile adjustments, bluetooth, cabin lights and vibes, etc. You can still drive w/o the cameras or the infotainment ready, but what tends to happen is that those systems get booted up in a weird state, which may cause further bugs and issues as you're driving.

Why are all their cars in Natick? Lol. We were looking at getting a Gravity and they were going to give us a $2000 “loyalty credit” on a car that was what we wanted, but having one extra option. It would have been fine with the loyalty credit. However, as we were discussing finalizing the deal, they said we would have to pay for transport from Natick. I just laughed and said you should have just left it at the factory instead of shipping it all across the country. Sorry, no interest in the car anymore. Have fun selling it in Natick.

Out of curiosity, I wonder if they would’ve applied the $2,000 credit to the transport? Not that you would’ve wanted it, but it would be interesting. I guess it doesn’t really matter as the credit plus the transfer basically meant no credit for you and there was n option you didn’t want.

When you purchase an in-stock vehicle, you have to pay the $1000 deposit. If there's a transport fee, you have to pay that upfront too, so the $2k loyalty credit comes off the bottom line of the vehicle cost, but presumably won't be waived to equal out the transport fee.

That would be the same as not getting the credit and paying $2k more. The car had features we didn’t want so we would pay more than we wanted if we just ordered it. The credit made that palatable. Not interested is blowing $2k extra to get it across the country. They can sell it in Natick.
