Does anyone know a good installer in the central/north NJ area? I've called five different places and they wont touch a Lucid.

No clue, but before you move ahead with a traditional dashcam, I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the recent tech talk where it was revealed that dashcam-like functionality was part of the plan? The car has high quality cameras...it's really just a question of software, storage and processing power to capture the footage from each drive with some sort of mechanism to transfer the recordings.

Lucid's roadmap is notoriously unreliable timewise. Some planned features like Android Auto have been years in the making. For all I know, my lease could be up in 18 months before they roll out the feature.

I'm willing to give it a little more time, but I don't really feel that comfortable driving without a dashcam.

Totally fair, and there is no date or specific priority associated with the feature (in terms of public news). Just making sure you knew it was coming before implementing a relatively crude solution compared to what the final implementation would be. If you're in a hurry, it makes total sense.

Bumping this. I really need a dashcam and no one will touch a Lucid.

Dashcam feature is coming soon - as per Lucid.. wait little bit...
We talked through this above...even thought I was the one who brought it up, I didn't claim a specific date of availability. Do you have evidence that it's truly coming soon, to the point where someone who needs it asap should wait?

Just install your own...
I'm auto interior work challenged, lol. The last time I tried to hardwire a dashcam in my prior car, it did not go well. Then, when I gave up on that and went to tuck it in the trim and run it around the A-pillar to plug it into the USB, I broke a trim piece.

So I'd like someone to help me out with it, especially on a car this nice and potentially sensitive to messing up a hardwire.

Are you up for a temporary window mounted option that is USB powered or charged? There's a list here: https://www.bestproductsreviews.com/usb-powered-dash-cam (none of which I've looked at, I just wanted you to know there were options that wouldn't require professional installations).
The Viofo cameras which are known to be delivering some of the best image quality are also USB powered.
That list seems to be show a bunch of low-end no-name products.
