Dark spot in headlights

Ok. Just reading this & I did not know about this function/feature earlier. Cool.

interesting so are lucid headlights capable of matrix functionality? wonder if theyll be able to do augmented reality like some of the german cars in europe

Hey guys,
This is what the dark spots on my Lucid Air Touring looks like. There are 3 shadows of varying darknesses and also they are staggered (not in the same line)
Is this normal?

Here are the spots on my Gravity. I was wondering if they're normal until I saw this thread. My Teslas never had anything like this, they're so distracting. Very weird choice IMO.

If you can see them on the pavement, your headlights are probably aimed too low and need to be adjusted upwards. The should be at eye level of oncoming traffic, meaning you should not see them on the pavement in routine driving.

But, of course, as soon as we started talking about headlights, look at what I received this morning. This Gravity is only about a week and a half old.

A reboot fixed it, but ughhh. I have a service visit scheduled for Monday, so I will bring it up with them.

That is almost certainly a false alarm. Gravity right now is prone to throwing too many errors (Lucid is aware of this and working on fixing it), even when they aren't issues; that is, if there was, say, a single miscommunication or "missed packet," so to speak, it may throw an error, even if communication has recovered. I made that up, but it's an example of what I mean.

We've seen this too. There's nothing wrong with our headlights.

I'm not sure it was such an innocent alarm because I noticed when I was leaving the house and saw the error, the headlights were not on. When I rebooted it 15 minutes later while stopped at a light, I watched the lights turn back on. So at least in this case, even if the lights are operational, when the car detects this error, it does not turn them on, which is a pretty big problem in the dark.

It would be best if Lucid turns off the LEDs in that matrix only when detecting another vehicle, but they haven't introduced real adaptive headlights in US yet, so they're taking the hacker's way out. Maybe the Gravity has real adaptive headlights.

That was not what happened to me; our lights stayed on even though the error came up, so that is a different situation. I agree you should get that checked out.
