Cosmos prototype

I can't help but think that they want to name "Stay Tuned" Ocean but have to wade through the complexities of Fisker bankruptcy. They'd also have to work out the fact that there is product out in the field with that name. Including an entire NYC taxi fleet.

Funny, if you look closely, the camo wrap appears to be a letter jumble of "Lucid Cosmos"
 
That appears to be a depiction of the cosmos, rather than the previous image of an alternative vehicle.
 
Are the side mirrors frameless like Volvo/Polestar/Geely?

Derek Jenkins did say during the investor day that there will be analogue door handles, so personally I'm happy to see more analogue controls.

Bit of a side note, I think as a whole the automotive industry will gradually bring back some analogue controls. Derek Jenkins did discuss the appeal of analogue and tactile controls in this interview: (link has been timestamped)

Unfortunately this is not a black & white question. There is no simple answer. A lot of branches on this tree. For one, there is much more leeway in terms of naming concept vehicles that tend to be 1 of 1 than there is in naming production vehicles manufactured and distributed in the thousands (millions?). For another, name copyrights need to be applied for and granted in all regions / markets where the vehicles are sold. I'm struggling to remember the details, but there are some GM vehicles that had to have different names in some countries because of the inability to get the desired name copyrighted in a particular market.

For the US, Fisker had the rights to the name Ocean for a mid-sized SUV sold in the US (and possibly other markets). Fisker, as most EV followers know, is defunct. Not sure where their intellectual property rights went or if the name is now available. It's complicated by the fact that there are actual vehicles in customers hands on the streets in market. I wouldn't be surprised if Lucid is trying to acquire rights to the name for the "Stay Tuned" version of the midsized trio. It fits so well...Cosmos...Earth...Ocean...Air...Gravity
 
One thing I've been thinking about has been how big the rear opening will be given the sloping rear and 2-piece window of the Cosmos. After seeing the newest Audi A2 e-tron and first gen A2, I think we can get a rough idea on how big the rear opening could be because they also have a 2-piece window with a sloping rear.

The first gen Audi A2 in particular is where I would like to draw extra attention. Derek Jenkins was the principal exterior designer.

Yup, I was just gonna make a post about how similar I think the A2 E-tron looked! They seem to have nearly the same silhouette, which is interesting; personally, I like the look of the A2. The Derek Jenkins connection is possibly a major reason for the design coincidence.

It's a reasonable solution a tradeoff of aerodynamic efficiency, cargo volume, and appearance.
