Cccv2 upgrade

So did Rivian and look where they are compared to Lucid 🤷‍♂️
I would love to have been a fly on the wall when the board decided to part ways with Rawlinson.

One of the similarities between Rivian and Tesla is they are run by the same people (Elon arguments accepted) that had the vision and carried their company through until now. I think Rawlinson was that guy as well, however Lucid was less able/willing/desiring of obtaining financing from a broad source of funding. PIF has a commanding presence in the boardroom and it seems to me they have tried to sell the Gravity cake before it was fully baked.

Lucid is showing that a corporate entity has allot more difficulty being directed by a board or corporate structure. Young companies have to be pulled and led, not "managed" by committee. We'll see - it's not impossible, however having a permanent CEO as cheerleader and dictator might just be what the doctor ordered. I have no problem with Winterhoff - but take away the "interim" title and give him the authority and power to effect change - and, if he isn't the right one, go get one now - there simply isn't time to waste.

I vote for Bob Lutz! He has an Air, authority and is a car nut - all the ingredients! :)

Lucid is special, we need to give endless passes and what all management gets is more and more shares.
Nobody is giving Lucid endless passes. Sometimes, frustration can make people somewhat less objective. That’s okay, but do try to read what people write with the most charitable interpretation, please.

Seeking to understand what’s happening is not the same as excusing it or giving them a pass. It’s just curiosity.

Its great you have large tolerance and understanding on whats going on at lucid. You may know better or have better information.

No one here are questioning you why are you responding positive or negative.
But i notice, when i am trying to post something venting or sharing that Lucid should not do this to us, i feel you immediately attack and start saying “ no company is best, you are unruley, you dont understand company, bla bla bla”

I am sorry if my understanding is wrong.

Please stay on topic. Thanks.

I have yet to attack you. If I have, please show that to me and I will immediately apologize for those actions and delete it. But I do not believe I have ever attacked you.

I also have never said any of “no company is best, you are unruley, you dont understand company, bla bla bla.” Please do not misquote me, especially uncharitably like that.

It is not that I have a large tolerance or know more than you. It is simply that I have run businesses before and understand some of the challenges involved, although I have never run an automotive business and would not claim to understand that business intimately.

The challenge is that many people here are in the same boat, and regularly assume they have all the information. I know that we don’t.

That, in my estimation, is the distinction, hence my goals of “seeking to understand” and finding truth, not conjecture or gossip, unless outright stated as such. That’s all.

I'd like to at least see the part itself in the rewards store, and then pay the labor out-of-pocket.

I think we can count on both the part and labor being offered in the Referral Store. Lucid management figured out a way to do it on the $$$ store, and the operational processes and accounting logic should be the same for the Referral Store, albeit with a little jiggering for the points conversions.

To be clear: Nick didn’t provide a deadline for when it would be in the rewards store, to my knowledge, and given this is the first item with labor to be added, it would appear they have to figure some things out first. I would bet (@socktucker ?) that they aren’t sitting idle on their hands with this as just item #17 on the task list.

They could have waited before saying anything, and then people would be upset nobody is listening to owners and adding it to the rewards store (which, as a reminder, is not something they actually have to do - not all things are in the rewards store). So Nick said they are adding it, and now people are upset it’s not there yet.

I understand the frustration and impatience, but it is impossible to both announce what you’re going to do and to simultaneously have already done it, unless you simply don’t announce what you’re going to do. You cannot have it both ways.

Perhaps they announced this one too early. Okay, that would be a learning to adjust from; get the infra in place first. But, imho, it’s still better than saying nothing.
Damned if you do; damned if you don't.

Our forum is so predictable.

"WHY WON'T YOU COMMUNICATE MORE WITH US, LUCID!!!!!!"

"Okay, we plan to do X sometime in the future."

Two weeks go by.

"YOU PROMISED X!!!!!! WHERE IS IT!!!!!!!!"

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why this hasn't been added to the rewards store yet.

1) Lucid is up to their service eyeballs in Gravity repairs right now. You literally can't get an appointment for anything less than a month out.
2) Software UX 3.0 for Air won't be coming out until late summer at the earliest. This chip upgrade has little benefit beyond making that update compatible.

Given these two facts, how stupid would Lucid be to add this to the Rewards Store now? To bombard an already overburdened service staff with a bunch of "free" work?

As a shareholder, I'd be furious if they did release this now.

I'm pretty sure that sound accounting practices would have Lucid booking the cost of referral point redemptions as they are incurred, so spending them would just be a balance sheet entry against already accrued expenses. Your 'overworked service' argument does hold water, although I'm not sure why it applies to the Referral Store more than it does to the $$$ Store, where the part/labor already resides. So, why not put it on the Referral Store so that loyalists can book the points before the next round of two year points expirations, but make it clear that installation will not take place before some future date? And we are approaching five weeks since the announcement. Not two. Nobody said word boo about a delay until a month had passed.

It's not the biggest deal in the world by any means. Just a nice thing that Lucid could do. Not as nice as giving us the part 'ala Rivian', but nice none-the-less. :-)

The point stands that there's no way to make the people on this forum happy. Which is a perfect argument for having them do nothing.

We will always find something complain about, no matter what they do. So they might as well keep doing what they are doing.

I guarantee if Lucid did EXACTLY what you just suggested, someone here would immediately say "Why do I have to spend my points now if they're not going to perform the service until June?" Not to mention it would be an accounting nightmare.

I wouldn't be surprised if the RewardsStore points are all still tracked on a giant spreadsheet somewhere. We're not talking about super well defined systems here.

There's no good reason to offer this upgrade on the rewards store until they have better service capacity and we're closer to the actual 3.0 release.

That's my best guess as to what's gong on here.

I suppose it's best that we agree to disagree on the finer points, although I'll concede the difficulty of ever making some people on the forum happy. That said, some others on the forum will defend Lucid at every turn. I, like you and most others, try to take a more balanced approach.

Couldn’t agree more, on all of the above :)

Hello all-wasn't sure where to post this so here goes. I am scheduled to receive my CCCV2 computer chip upgrade tomorrow via remote service. Is there anything that I should know other than all of my settings will need to be reset?

That's all in my experience.

My phone got a little confused with just one Bluetooth showing, but easy enough to delete all, reboot, then reattach as if new.

Isn't the 2.9.3 die latest?

All set! There was an issue with the car installing the software bundle but a call to service HQ fixed it. I will report on any issues after driving it later on. View attachment 39253
I noticed an increase in speed in loading and ysing the entertainment features but haven’t driven the car yet. However, I did a reset and got this error message (“heater requires service”) that I cannot clear by additional resets. Will contact service later today.
