Are there any videos of before after cccv2 upgrade? I just want to see how much better the UX performs. I don't really notice any sluggishness, but some poeple seem to be adamant that it is faster. Id love to see the difference.
 
My question is when will they be available in Costa Mesa? I had an appointment on September 24, only to have the service advisor inform me that the chips were not available when I arrived.

Worst case if you’re nearish a showroom you could test drive a 2025 or 2026 and compare.

There is a major RAM shortage worldwide. Cellphones are expected to reduce RAM for upcoming models and DDR5 that i bought earlier this year is now 300% more expensive. I would be surprised if Lucid can even afford to sell the upgrade for the same price. This might be what is impacting supply.

The need for AI generated social media videos far exceeds the need for useful things.

The CCC V2 upgrade makes a slight improvement in my experience. Maybe the most noticeable difference is that on those occasions when the surround cameras take a while to turn on at startup, they come on several seconds sooner with CCC V2. Other than that, I was fine with CCC V1.

I was in the same situation as you a couple months back. I had an appt. at the Costa Mesa service center for the CCCv2 upgrade, 2 year service, and other warranty repairs. I get to my appointment and was told that they had no CCCv2 modules in stock and said they should have some back in stock by mid-November. So I made an appointment for the 1st week of December and was able to get the upgrade installed. Not really much of a difference compared to v1, except that my Sirius XM starts playing every time now when I get in the car without fail. Before the upgrade, it was a hit or miss. Android Auto also connects within a a few seconds now, whereas before, it would fail to start on the car on more than several occasions. Also, the surround view cameras are much more responsive and smoother when rotating around the car. Definitely happy with the upgrade.
 
I think a lot depends on when your car was built, as there were several versions of CCCv1. I was told that my '23 Pure AWD (built in 11/23, and I think on the line with the first '24s) has the last version of CCCv1, which is not that much different than the first version of CCCv2. My guess is that the earlier the build date of your car, the greater the performance difference.

I don't perceive my car as being slow, so I don't intend to pay for the upgrade unless I would need it to get a never promised feature. For example, if CCCv2 were required to get V2H or L3 DDP, I would expect Lucid to install it without any charge, but I would consider paying for it to get Sentry Mode... at least if I'm correct that it was not a promised feature when I bought the car.

Yep, same experience here. If you are keeping the car another 3-4 years, definitely worth it.

I don’t know if anyone else experienced their pocket cast app glitchy but it resolved with the update. Also the profile switching is definitely faster post upgrade
 
Upgraded Dec 15th. Seems more responsive, but it’s not super noticeable. Drove from San Carlos to Los Angeles on 101 without any problems or weirdness.
 
The most noticeable difference is the responsiveness of the navigation app. For example, when you click into the search bar to type in an address, the keyboard opens smooth and seemlessly.

And here I was blaming 2.8.17 for the poor playback...😅. It did get better all by itself but it may have been the app update

Not accurate… There was only one version of CCCV1, and it’s based on a chip that was obsolete when the car shipped. If anybody told you otherwise, they are incorrect.

CCC V2 is based on a Qualcomm part, and it has much more memory and processing power than the V1 version.

So, most of us are on a obsolete hardware and thats causing all this camera glitches and slowness that Lucid is unable to fix from 4 years ☹️
 
As I understand from a relative who previously worked in the area, car infotainment hardware is normally obsolete by consumer electronics standards by the time it is first sold to customers, due to the length of the design process and rough conditions the hardware has to survive for much longer than say an iPad.

I am just surprised that, unsolicited, another Lucid employee went so far as to tell me how my car's CCCv1 was the 7th iteration, and the last one before the change to CCCv2, and that was why he was not surprised that I was quite satisfied with my level of responsiveness.

I guess mine just performs better because my car likes me more!

AND @borski... IT'S IRREGARDLESS! :-)
