CarPlay and Siri

Hi everyone,

I am putting together a formal complaint that I intend to file in both NY and CA. It’s in regards to CarPlay and Siri not working as promised. I have spoken to hundreds of people with the same complaints.

FWIW, Carplay and Siri work fine for me (always wireless). Occasionally I have to manually start Carplay but it comes up quickly. Only time it's been a problem was twice my Air showed Bluetooth as off when I try to start Carplay, and nothing will get it to work until I do an "air" reset. That seems like a Lucid issue.

Other than that it works fine. I almost always ask Siri to open my garage door (Meross) which works 100% of the time. Also often as Siri to navigate somewhere and that also pretty much always works (I like Apple maps for navigation, as well as Waze). Occasionally will ask Siri a random question (e.g. what's the weather where I'm going), always works.

I'm only one data point, but it works as well as other cars I've use it in, maybe better.

I use Apple Car Play and Siri almost exclusively. Works perfectly 99% of the time. I do use Waze (through CarPlay) most of the time for navigation because I like to know where the popo might be and also appreciate the real time traffic updating and alternate routing in that case.

My CarPlay (and Siri, as a corollary) has been flawless, with one exception in the last six months where it got confused, and a logo reset fixed it right up.

I don’t think you’ll find many members in your class.

Like other vehicles, it is especially flawless if you plug in via USB.

It would be nice if you let us know exactly how "CarPlay and Siri not working as promised ," because most people here find that it works. I don’t know what aspect you are referring to as "promised."

car play works fairly well for me, sometimes I have to manually get it started. I gave up on siri a long time ago. voice controls just aren't really ready for prime time

Huh, they work fine for me. Or, maybe better put, about as well as they work in other vehicles…
