Many months ago I had programed homelink to open/close my garage. I was having issues where the garage would start to close and then open back up. I confirmed there was nothing in the way of the sensors. I ended up resetting/removing homelink. Now what I'm observing is that if my garage is closing and I put my car into drive, the garage goes back up. I don't understand why. Is there any possibility that homelink is still sending a signal? Could there just be some weird electromagnetic interference? I have to keep my car in park until the garage is fully closed before I can drive off...

Your garage obstruction sensors are picking up the LiDAR in the car, I’m guessing. If you block the LiDAR unit, does the same thing happen?

Either way, try moving your obstruction sensors up or down, or installing something like Infinity Shield (which is better for safety and helps you park anyway).

(I’m not paid by them and they’re not a forum vendor, I just like the product)

Another data point: I saw the same problem with my garage door. Turned out the garage door springs needed replacement.

lol yeah; it could totally be a mechanical issue lol

I’m experiencing the same issue, and I’m fairly certain it’s due to the LiDAR.

I was having a similar problem, which was resolved by my son 3D printing shields to block the Air’s lidar from beaming on the garage door safety beam receiver. Or, you can just turn the car far enough after backing out that you’re not aimed at the door…

Yes. I printed shields and problem solved.
