Why would Lucid turn away easy money? Tesla is the same, they’ll rotate tires for you for $50. That’s easy money for them. But you can’t rotate the tires on any Gravity anyways since are staggered setups.
Regarding the mission of Lucid's Service Centers:
> Lucid has few service centers. As Lucid ramps production and introduce more models (Gravity, Cosmo, Earth, etc.) and try to grow its market, Service Center is an Archilles Heel.
> Hence, the (strategic) question in front of Lucid is, should Lucid's Service Centers focus on Lucid-model-specific services or spend its time and resources on tire-rotation?
> As an example, when I scheduled my upcoming April 17th service appointment for my 2022 AGT, I have to wait 3 months to get an appointment. Yes, it might bring a few more $$ for the Scottsdale Service Center as revenue if Lucid SC does the tire rotation, but it is actually less convenient and more costly to me as a Lucid owner and takes resources away from Lucid servicing more critical issues for other owners.
>It boils down to whether Lucid wants to grow their business by competing with Discount Tires on tire rotation or use its service centers to help drive up sales of new products.
>Rivian, on the other hand, made the right choice in my opinion. Rivian told me to schedule my tire rotation with Discount Tires. It is free. And there are two Discount Tires shops within 3-5 miles of where I live. Rivian Service Center is 15+ miles away.
Point is, Rivian is managed more strategically and guides their customers to a better solution. for both Rivian and the customer. I think Lucid needs adult supervision on how to maximize their limited assets to grow the business and service their customers.
