Now that I have gotten beyond the honey moon phase, I am settling into a healthy relationship with my AT with a full understanding of its potential and her pet peeves.

My question to fellow owners do you get tired of other luxury Evs and wanna be luxury evs wanting to race ?

I mean don’t get me wrong once in awhile I ask her to let hair hair down and go for a “Sprint” but I just feel like unless there is a genuine need, I just enjoy the smooth dynamics while entering a parking lot slowly as I get awestruck looks or disdain from “you know who”

Would love some feedback on your perspectives.

I personally do not like the feeling of head snapping acceleration anymore. I did it several times the first year I got the car but now, like you, I most enjoy the genuinely relaxing feeling of just driving the car in a mundane fashion.😉

We are different people. :P

But I do tend to drive it in Swift fairly calmly, unless I’m on a road trip. Some days, though, I do enjoy sprinting around for fun.

Agreed on the sprint mode it’s a rare occurrence, I enjoy Swift when I leave the outback of Santa Barbara and head into LA traffic

I hear you ;💯. I literally get nauseated and worry I am going to drive the thing into a ditch or embankment!. I do enjoy the bragging rights; however.

First thing I do when I sit down is turn on sprint mode… I know I have a problem but I bought this trim for a reason!

If I have someone else in the car then I’ll drive in smooth though. I get extremely car sick and would hate to give that feeling to my passengers.

When does the honeymoon phase end? I'm about two years into ownership. I drive it slow and steady in Smooth if I have a passenger, but if I'm solo my default mode is Swift. And the joy of accelerating from a light at 5x the speed of everyone else and seeing them in the rear view mirror hasn't gone away at all.

Yes, this is true - Smooth with others in the car.

I'll hit 3 years on 1/19 and it still hasn't gone away

As some others have stated. Swift is my default mode and Sprint when I have some room available to let it out. My mileage sucks, but who cares. Smooth of course with fellow passengers in the car.

Almost 2yrs for me n my AT as well, still full honeymoon mode. Smooth is default but when I want/need a smile - never fails to deliver. Also - I know it ‘just’ the touring, but any other touring owners feel the need to see when the hard acceleration ends? Haven’t done it yet but …recently paved highway, little to no traffic, tempted to see if/when the limiter actually kicks in! I know - I could prolly just ask borski but that ain’t the same!! and his de(dep?) would still be pulling strong when the runs down on horses

  • Pure top speed is 124mph (actual speed)
  • Touring top speed 140mph (actual speed)
  • GT/GT-P/DE top speed is 168mph (actual speed, not Lucid speedometer speed, which is more like 171mph)
  • Sapphire top speed is "satisfactory" at 205mph. :P
Prove me wrong! :P

Not a chance! I'll leave that to you.

Well, one week in with my whopping 250 miles, the thrill definitely ain’t gone! LOL. However, having come from a Tesla M3P that had similar acceleration to my AGT (but a lot less top end), I would imagine that the romance won’t end. My romance with the M3P which was less of a car than my AGT in every way (except “Self Driving, which I never felt safe using!) only ended because a certain CEO became so annoying that he forced the romance to end. Glad he did actually as the Lucid is SUCH a better car…and company!

I just let others go, knowing that I could easily drive away from them if I don't put myself into a telephone pole along the way. I also tend toward motion sickness and rarely even use smooth mode's maximum hp. Otherwise I'll feel ill for the rest of the afternoon.

Almost 8 months in and still in the honeymoon phase for me. Want to take this baby everywhere! I generally try to avoid racing but once in a while, if the road is wide, safe & clear, I'll let them see a peek at how fast it can go.
