Air GT/Blue/SCruz/19"
As I have written about in other threads, I am the proud new owner of a new 2025 Air GT.

I must say that I approached this purchase with some anxiety almost entirely based on reading posts in this Forum as there are so many threads about a gazillion different issues with Lucid Airs and the buying process. I moved forward because I had the good fortune to speak with several people (one of them a close friend of my family) who own and drive them and absolutely RAVE about the car and the Company.

To cut to the chase, is this was the finest car purchasing experience I have ever had, I am already madly in love with my new car AND I have not experienced any issues with build quality, key FOBs, Phone Key, software or range (I am alluding to some of the most common gripes about the car). This car is built to incredibly high quality standards, the UI is beautiful , fast and intuitive and the car is an incredible drive.

Every aspect of my purchase was handled with kindness, efficiency and thoroughness by Alexxa (Short Hills Studio), Jacques (Lucid Inside Sales) and Robert (KOP Delivery Associate). The Leasing paperwork was straightforward, well explained and fair and the deal I got (thanks to current Lucid incentives and lease rates) WAS FANTASTIC.

If you are reading this and have read (like I had) threads here that scared you half to death, all I can say is that my personal experience could not have gone any better. I have owned BMW's, Audi's, Ferrari's, Honda's, Subaru's, Toyota's, Hyundai's and, yes, Tesla's. NONE of those cars were built as well or drove as well AND buying every one of them was far more painful an experience than working with Lucid.

I honestly doubt that I am simply lucky and that my experience was unique. I think we all need to remember that people are probably 10 times more likely to complain about something than they are to take the time out to write something positive, so, sadly, the online world becomes a wellspring of griping and negativity. Fortunately there are many on this Forum who provide a positive counter-balance to that kind of thing!

I took delivery yesterday in KOP. It was a cold day (35 degrees). My drive home was a combination of highway at 70-75mph and rural / city. Heat was set at 70. I averaged 3.70 m/kWh. This leads me to believe that I will have no trouble getting EPA rated efficiency in warmer weather, when the tires (and rest of the car is more worn in) and when / if I stop reveling in just how hard you can drive these cars!

BRAVO LUCID!!! The car I am coming out of is a 2018 Tesla Model 3 Performance and every aspect of my purchase experience was so far superior to buying my Tesla that it is not even fair to compare. The website was better AND there were helpful humans to call who were personable and knowledgeable. And then, of course, there is the product. Night and day in terms of fit and finish, build quality and driving experience. Oh, and I know I will likely get flamed for this, but I find the current iteration of Lucid's UI to be far superior to that of Tesla -- I love it and I have not even completely learned it yet. It is classy looking, fast, intuitive and even "elegant." I cannot say anything other than "it works" about the Telsa UI.

So my dear Lucid Air Fence Sitting Friends...if I were you I'd jump in with both feet and take advantage of the incredible deals available now and get yourself into The Best Damn Car so you can Compromise Nothing.

Yeah, I've become a FanBoy. It has been well earned by the Lucid Team! Alexxa, Jacques and Robert, if you ever read this, THANK YOU!!! YOU WERE ALL AMAZING!!!

Great spec! Congratulations!

Thanks! Santa Cruz Leather, DDP, SSP.
With that Santa Cruz interior (same as mine) you may want to invest in a set of Tuxmats. They cover the footwell side carpet too, so the edge of your "accelerator" boot doesn't mar the carpet.

Nope, you are right...Lucid UI is much better than Tesla. Tesla has this humongous screen where it is very hard to find anything, all jubbled and every update changes things. And NO BUTTONS!

People have this notion that having better autonomous driving is a better interface- WRONG....Lucid is miles ahead in usability and safety. The way Lucid uses 3 screens much better than an IPAD stuck in the center- you have look down to look at the speed- how usable is that????

Wish people would give credit where its due instaed of getting blindsighted by FSD hype that doesnt work. I would trust a Waymo any day over a Tesla robotaxi. I bet you most people would trust their children in a Waymo than a future Tesla Robotaxi...except maybe Tesla fanboys....

Great post!!! So happy you’re part of the Lucid owners now :) You are spot on with your observations on a majority of internet posters, and I’m glad you posted your good experience!

Regarding this though….”if I stop reveling in just how hard you can drive these cars!”…………You won’t 😉

Congratulations again!

Yeah. I am thinking that. I already bought the Lucid all weather mats and they look really nice, but they will not protect the carpet well!

Yep, Tuxmats are the best on the market. I literally brought them with me to delivery so they would be in the car on day one.

I tried the 3D mats, which look good in light gray, but they also didn't have the coverage I needed.

Best damn car period! Agreed

Great post! Love the spec and I have the same exterior color - it gets tons of attention pretty much everywhere I go.

I'm very happy to hear that your UI and software experience is so positive. These are the only issues I have on my '24 Touring, otherwise it's a flawless car. Even still, as I've said before, software issues or not, I will be getting another Lucid simply because of the engineering greatness that pervades every gram of this car.

Right now, my lifetime average on my Touring on 20" wheels averages 3.0x mi/kWh as I have a lead foot. That said, as a challenge to myself, I tried seeing how much efficiency I could get on a recent highway trip. In 50 degree clear weather at around 65 to 70mph, I averaged 5.1 mi/kWh over 250 mile period. So, the efficiency is clearly there, it's just difficult to access because the car is so capable, so refined that doing legal speeds makes it feel like you're standing still.

It is very hard not to stomp on the fun pedal!!!

I am thrilled to hear about your buying experience. This looks like a red carpet buying experience.

I came from a 2018 Tesla Model 3. I was nervous I was going to regret moving to Lucid. So far I have zero regrets.

I have a 2022 AGT Performance. The build quality is top notch. My DDPro and Sureal Sound Peo are being engaged this week as Lucid just picked up my car today to fix a stuck door handle and mirror that would not always fold out properly.

This car is FAST, and so comfortable!

I am ALL IN on Lucid and also now a fanboy! :)

I do miss the Tesla lane asssit features. However, without not yet trying DDP I cannot say if I am or am not missing anything. I do know that the Lucid has far more sensors that the Model 3. This provides ample opportunity for continued refinement.

For the infotainment system, I just bought one of these.

I’ll let everyone know how it works. This way my kids can watch TV when Dad is driving. ;)

You are not unique. My purchase and delivery experience was wonderful. The sales staff at the UTC Studio were great. My delivery associate, Hewitt at Costa Mesa, was nothing short of amazing. We were in touch every couple days before delivery because I had last minute funding issues. I had picked my birthday as my delivery day. I got the full reveal, as you did, as well as my getting my frunk signed. Hewitt added an extra touch by having cards signed by all the Lucid staff including Peter for me as well as cupcakes for me to take home. In all my years, that was about the best birthday I've ever had! The experience of owning and driving it has been just as good. I'm definitely a fan girl. I couldn't imagine driving anything else now.

Yes, it is too much fun to just go fast! I did an analysis recently and this is the result. DRIVE FAST!!

My Air Touring has 20,000 miles. I have owned it for 16 months. My actual lifetime efficiency is 3.7 mi/kWh. So at $0.16 per KW with home charging, it has cost me about $55 per month for energy. Now, realistically, I have used over 2,000 kWs from free EA charging, but I will ignore that for now.

If I chose to drive fast all the time, it would have cost me an additional $7.00 a month. The difference between driving super efficient to fast is only about $12.00 per month over 20,000 miles. So everyone, please just drive FAST!!

a Gas car with 28 mpg would cost about $120 more per month in energy costs.

For me, as a serious environmentalist, I try to not drive fast all the time, because even though I am only using electrons, they need to come from SOMEWHERE…and the less I use, the less energy required.

That said, I’m even a little “nuttier” than I should be as we have solar and last year we generated 5 megawatts MORE than we used…and sent that back to the grid. Soooo, I probably should just never look at my efficiency and DRIVE the car!!!

3d mats are the best on the market. Fight me :P

(but tuxmats are fine; I just way prefer the look and texture of 3d mats; tuxmats are higher coverage but like anything else, i can't compromise on looks :P)
