I've got a GT manufactured in July, 2022. I called service about a minor problem, and they wanted to have my car a few days for a battery and wunderbox replacement. I haven't had any problems, but they said this was a campaign that applied to my car. Does anyone know what this is about?

... replacing the battery seems like a lot of work just to get the speaker tape applied.

I've had my battery unexpectedly replaced. I view it as good that it occurred under warranty...it's the most expensive part of the car.

Some early cars had an issue with the battery, I believe detected by the car's software. Replacing the battery with an updated unit also requires a new Wunderbox.
My car is of that build era and did not need a battery replacement.

many other posts talking about this very thing.

The battery in my car, DE #185, was also proactively replaced.

Just to clarify, the battery replacement and the speaker tape are entirely unrelated. The speaker tape is a 5 minute job.

There isn’t a “campaign” per se to replace the batteries, but there is diagnostic software on the vehicle that alerts Lucid to any impending issues, which then prompts them to call the owner and resolve the problem before it possibly occurs and strands you somewhere.

That’s nothing but a good thing, and only happens to a small percentage of vehicles. Happened to my DE as well, except mine was before the diagnostic software. Your experience is better, I promise, because you weren’t on the highway and had it fail mid-drive, albeit with a two-minute warning. :)

Anyway, as mentioned earlier, plenty of other threads already on this topic. Have a great week!
