Anyone know of bidirectional charging status?

Bidirectional capable ev + bidirectional charger + additional equipment needed to exploit v2h

I have enphase solar + enphase battery + SPAN.io (smart electrical box) . Waiting on gravity and enphase bidirectional charger to complete v2h setup.

Enphase bidirectional white paper:

Enphase bidirectional charger availability pushed to 2026 😔
This gives a good description of a v2h solution.

For Lucid's cars (and Volvo / Polestar), you might want this one instead: https://investor.enphase.com/news-r...launches-next-generation-iq-ev-charger-across

I'm waiting for the same thing. I've been using Lucid's LCHCS for the last couple years, but for the future I'll want a bidirectional EVSE that will integrate well with my Enphase PV/battery system.

Yeah, I've got a LCHCS that I got in anticipation of V2H. Hadn't installed it yet because I wanted it integrated with my Enphase solar system. I'd gladly purchase the Enphase charger if it came out first and was compatible with our Airs...

This is informed speculation, but here goes.

The CCS Standard had a provision for bi-directional charging. The J3400 standard (NACS) currently does not.

THe Ford F150 came out with bi-directional charging before the big announcement and the industry switchover to NACS. The F150 exported power on the DC pins,a dn, the F150 still has a CCS port, even though Ford has happily embraced NACS.

THe Cybertruck is supposed to support bi-directional charging, uses NACS,a ND will export AC power.

I strongly suspect we are going to see zero headway on bi-directional charging until the SAE has a J3400 standard compliant with bi-directional charging. THe standard doesn't necessarily have to be released before manufacturers use it, but, the standard does have to largely agreed to be interested parties. And I also strongly suspect a pissing match over AC/DC.

I'd imagine (hope) that AC bidirectional-capable cars like Lucid, Volvo / Polestar could also work with a DC bidirectional EVSE if the car manufacturers chose to put in the engineering effort.
