  1. While the vehicles currently in customer hands do not offer a wi-fi hotspot, we do plan on sending an over-the-air update in the future that will enable this feature.
  2. Other than a traditional vehicle alarm, Lucid Air does not offer a security system that alerts of tampering or uses the cameras to monitor its surroundings while not in use. Lucid Air does possess the hardware necessary for these systems, however, so it’s possible that if there is enough demand for a system like this in the future, we could activate it using software.
  3. It would be extremely difficult to steal Lucid Air. In order to operate the vehicle, a key needs to be detected, and it cannot be driven without first recognizing the driver through facial recognition or without manual entry of a 5-digit pin.
  4. For the moment, we do not offer geo-location assistance to locate the vehicle for security reasons, however, it is something that could be possible in the future.

In regards to #2, I'm assuming you asked about Sentry mode. The answer is really that they are already working on it internally, but obviously DreamDrive is still the priority. Also, DashCam functionality is also being developed.

The car can currently be located using the mobile app, so I don't understand this statement, since they don't need to be involved in locating the vehicle. The owner can do it themselves.

It's funny they make boilerplate statements like this. Do they think there is no demand for this? Who doesn't want this?

This reads like "we have limited engineering resources and we can barely make the software do basic things so we are kicking this can down the road for now".

that's how I read that. they can't reasonably prioritize everything so they would have to pick and choose which ones to prioritize. hope they are adding more engineers so they can tackle more issues at once.

And maybe they need to enhance Quality Assurance and Quality Control budgets.

They can't throw money at this problem. Google can't throw money to solve the problems themselves. There is a finite number of good software engineers that can do the job. That's what all companies have to deal with.

Sure they can, the tech is out there and being used all they have to do is buy it.

Lucid is an innovator with distance, companies don't have to reinvent the wheel for every little item, for god sakes get on the horn and call Tim Cook and cut a deal to get Car Play, call Delphi to buy some software tech, etc.

Man, if only it were this easy. Speaking as someone who built something from nothing and has plans to do it again, there is a lot you’ve left out and underestimated.

It’s easy, at a high level, to imagine how one might walk from SF to LA. But then you start doing it and realize: damn, I didn’t realize there were this many hills. Or valleys. Or rivers. Or fires. Suddenly your trip just got four times as long and six times as hard.

That’s engineering in a nutshell. :)

Of course, your dad has already told everyone that you're going to be there in 520 hours. When you don't arrive for many days after that, no one wants to have anything to do with you because you were late. You're still carrying all of the candy and presents that were promised (even though a few of those presents may be not fully functioning), but you were late, and that's all that really matters.

Investors in a nutshell :).
