All Season Tires/Wheels

Very interesting! Well, polestar did the same - performance 20" wheels were delivered with summer tires, even in the Northeast. I'm not really sure of the common denominator in all of this! From a common sense point of view, they should absolutely ensure the consumer acknowledges. Maybe it's just sales driven and that would add friction or reduce sales.

It's cost and I don't necessarily blame them. They likely cut a deal with a manufacturer they thought was great deal only to find out that its not great for customers in a chunk of the country. Plus, they're still small'ish so that gets them a little leniency on my end. If it were Tesla, I'd be in the showroom pounding my fist on a desk about it, but I know what it's like to run on a thin budget and sometimes you can't foresee every issue. These guys are doing a great job overall, and mistakes sometimes happen. Still, they need to fix this on a going-forward basis.

No all-weather markings and so I think they are just summer, which in NJ is ridiculous. I already have a call into them. They really shouldn’t be selling these tires in the northeast, at least without first telling the customer.

BTW - is it just the tires that would need to be swapped out, or would the rims also need to be swapped out?

I was just at the Chicago Auto show and spoke to the Lucid sales folks. Unless you click through several screens on their website, you would never know that the 20" and 21" are only summer tires. I just don't understand why they don't put this on the same screen that describes the tire size on the first screen. It is a very unwelcome surprise here in Chicago. Unfortunately Lucid is not making any offers to help, other than saying you should buy winter or all season tires from a third party. Not a good option on a short term lease. Disappointing.

It is actually right there, when you configure the vehicle. You just have to hit the "i" circle (information) when selecting the wheel option to see the description.

Yeah, clicking one more time is a true hardship for many in this day and age, but really, when putting an order for such a high price car, shouldn't one pay attention to every single thing? Also, something like this can be quickly observed during the test drive. Again, I would not buy such a high price vehicle without a test drive (or three).

The way I ordered my car was by Lucid sending me a link to the specs, i.e., I didn’t do any configuration on their site. And that spec sheet had no mention of summer tires. I have now been told that there is a click through in the paperwork that is ultimately signed, but the sales rep admitted that it takes some effort to find it and she is going to recommend that they make it more noticeable going forward. And in any event, we all know how that electronically signed paperwork works, very few if anyone reads through all the documentation before electronically signing and even more so wouldn’t click through and then read all the click through pages. You can blame this on the consumer all you want, but in this day and age, a consumer buying a car in the northeast would absolutely assume it comes with all-season tires and wouldn’t even think to question it. Lucid needs to do a much better job on this disclosure and even better they need to offer the 20s and 21s with all-season tires. This really is a no-brainer and a better disclosure by Lucid is simple.

Thanks for the above! I’m a general counsel for a very large company and if I was their internal lawyer there is no doubt I would be telling them they should disclose this on the sticker and in the car’s online description. I haven’t researched this at all, but to me this really looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I am a lawyer at a large firm and i had the same thought.
