I see over 60% of Airs on Lucid Tracker have already updated to 2.9.0. To me, that suggests the vast majority of cars have received the update push/alert. I know they said a couple weeks, but this rollout seems to have accelerated quite quickly since release started just four days ago. My Air has not received it yet (on WiFi all the time). Worth a call to Lucid or just sit tight? I’ve seen several say their updates failed but they at least were notified to update.

Anyone else still waiting for their update?

Yup. Still waiting here. I keep waking the vehicle and checking my eero to see if it’s downloading anything. Nothing yet.

I got the update. It failed and hasn’t been offered since. I’ll give it a few more days

What a difference it makes when an update is formally announced, it is clear what vehicles are getting it, the deliverables are outlined, and even elements of the roll-out process are given in advance. I see that this also went out as an email blast. The icing on the cake will be if announcements follow stating that Lucid views the roll-out process as complete, and that anyone who did not receive it should call a special 'push the update' number. (BTW, the number would not be answered until the roll-out was viewed as complete, so it would not be a way to jump the queue.)

Imagine the number of calls that approach would save the (already strained) customer service team. Hopefully, Lucid will quickly build on this great start!

I used to get all updates with the included cellular. Now the car is asking me to connect to WiFi to download the update. Seems like a recent change. I do not like this as I live in an apartment building and there is no WiFi in the basement parking. My drive to work is not that long and I do no like sitting in the car with mobile hotspot just to get a big software update. Its one of the those little things which I appreciated in my Lucid over Tesla

The problem is when someone leaks the update, and Lucid hadn’t formally announced it, as that is what happened in this case until Lucid announced it.

Let's not dilute the praise I've heaped, @borski, nor the call to action. Whatever events may have happened with the 'leak' of 2.9, you know full well that the detailed announcement made by @marqie, and the following email blast, is very much an exception, if not a first, for Lucid. Why characterize it as the norm?

Lucid has announced plenty of software updates previously, both in emails and on Twitter.

My update failed as well as I posted earlier. I got it a second time tonight, tried to install, and it failed again.

I got the update on Saturday (2022 AGT) and drove about 500 miles with it, Including almost 400 totally handsfree.

- Handsfree was excellent. Car is confident, I feel it handles the old offramp conundrum a little better, and the Lane Change Assist upgrade has made it even smoother and more like a human driving. Very impressed.
- 3 times in 400 miles on the highway I noticed that the car would start slowing down without any car in front of me. Almost like it was "looking further ahead" where there were cars and slowing down. Noticeable slow down. But after I overrode it came back to normal operation. Again, very minor.
- Google maps upgrade is a huge plus and worked flawlessly
- overly aggressive Android Auto takeover bug still there (regardless of my trying to use the Lucid apps the whole trip) but hopefully this will resolve soon.
- Tidal audio Atmos as others have noted sounds great.

Solid update and very pleased with how the car continues to improve, even 4 years later.

But, as usual, your reply comes across as in defense of Lucid against what I posted. Please re-read it, and you can even forget the aspirational parts. I'm thanking them for making an announcement that initiates outbound details at launch, talked about qualifying vehicles, said that the launch was now talking place, and even detailed elements of the roll-out process. Maybe that happened in the days of your Air Dream Edition, but I haven't seen that since I bought my Air Pure in 2023. This forum goes on and on all the time lamenting about the OTA update rollout process, or lack thereof, and Twitter doesn't count any more than this forum unless and until it becomes the registration and communications vehicle for ALL owners. Nothing is wrong with praising them for doing something right, and hoping they will be encouraged to build on it. I did it with my kids all the time.

BTW, if you want to delve into the details of the 'leak', I would be interested in hearing about it. I just don't see why it would be necessary in response to my post.

Ok, took my first drive this morning with 2.9 and the two major things I noticed:

1. My cameras no longer work. First noticed when backing out of my driveway. No front or rear cameras...just a black screen. Once underway, my "turn signal" cameras are also not working.
2. All of my XM favorites are gone. Not that they're not showing...they're gone. The stations are no longer favorited.

I did a soft reboot when I arrived at work, but it did not seem to solve this problem. Anyone else had this issue?!

Still waiting. 2024 Pure with CCCv2. Looks like we are slated for the very last of this roll out!

This is common in vehicles that automatically engage the emergency brake when shifted into park, as most EVs do. Nothing to do with the software change.

Most likely the brake pad wasn't allowed to cool properly before making contact with the rotor, or humidity caused rust to form. In either case, the pad was stuck to the rotor because of one of those conditions, and once it broke free a bit of material was still stuck to the rotor which eventually dispersed which caused the gradually fading clunking noise.

Thank you. Seems logical. I just thought it was strange that in three and a half years of owning an AT and parking it in the same spot in my garage, this had never happened before.

Have you checked the 'About' tab on the pilot panel 'Settings' list? (The one where you do an Air logo reset.) I'm not sure why, nor whether it's the exception or the rule, but that's where I found an announcement that my car was ready for a wi-fi download. Not INSTALLATION, as is usually notified on the upper right screen, but DOWNLOAD. Follow that prompt, and the download will proceed, with the installation prompts following, as usual. This, to my knowledge, is the first time when DOWNLOAD did not happen automatically. Hope this helps.

I haven't received mine yet either. When I read about the Wifi prioritization, I felt good because I keep my Wifi on. But when I looked in my car, Wifi was enabled, but not automatically connecting anymore. I'm not sure why, but I am guessing this got interpreted as being on cellular only. I made it connect to the Wifi and for 3 days now, it has maintained the auto connect. I don't know if perhaps your wifi wasn't connecting even though it was enabled? So, I'm patiently waiting for it to appear!

I am guessing that it relates to the size of the major download. Previous tweaks could download in the background, and then manually install at the user's leisure.
But this big boy needs full attention just to download, thus the user should manually initiate.

It's not ideal, but according to previous posts, you will get it eventually even without Wi-Fi. They are just prioritizing Wi-Fi downloads (for whichever reasons) but they will release it to be downloaded to cellular-only vehicles.

I agree 100%. I was just trying to tell the OP that it may be necessary to look for a notice on the availability to download the update, rather than waiting for it to happen automatically.

I think we’re just talking past each other. That’s fine.

Lucid has made such announcements and sent such emails before, for major feature releases like this one, and you don’t have to go back to 2022 for it. It isn’t their first time, but it also isn’t consistent, which is why I agree with you.

The leak part was related to the fact that if it hadn’t been leaked, there would not have been the hubbub about “where is it and why don’t I have it yet”
