May sound crazy, but I just want to confirm prior to proceeding with the update on CCCv1 and don't want to screw me in the future

When they install the ccc v2, they reinstall the software. So don't worry about it.

All set. I received an alert about 4.5 hours after the download that indicated that the download was ready to install. About two hours later the installation was complete. Thanks Team Lucid!
 
Only issue I noted this morning post-update was that all my SiriusXM favorites were gone. Had to set those up again, no big deal.

If you had your wi-fi off like me, you may have done so because your app would not reliably wake the car when it's turned on. After turning on my wi-fi, I was a bit surprised to find that this is still the case. A few hours after turning on the wi-fi, and having received no notification about the update, I went down to the car. Everything looked normal until I noticed a little white dot by the settings icon on the pilot panel. That eventually led me to the 'about' page... the one you use for the Air logo reboot. THAT'S where I found the update available notice. (I don't recall if it was already downloading, as I was half asleep, or if I had to start it.) Anyway, I went back up to my condo, and kept the app running until I got notified that the update was available for installation. (Download seems to take about 1/2 hour on a 2.4 gHz wi-fi.) Don't be surprised if the whole 2.9 download disappears from the app for a while, as it will eventually reappear, and you will get a phone notification that the update is ready to install. The only other glitch is that, when the update is complete, the app will say that the car's battery is critically low. It's not. Everything is fine when you go to the car, as is the app once you turn the wi-fi back off.

Also I did not have to reconnect with Tidal as someone indicated might be the case. And destinations found via the app are sendable to the vehicle and I don’t have the VV2 chip.
 
Reboot completed 50% faster than before the update. I will check again after some time. Also, control felt little crispier than before.

I was just coming here to see if this happened to anyone else. I did a hard reset and it didnt help. Customer care said that he saw it downloaded 100% so it must be an issue with the update itself

What exactly happened--you didn't say.
A lot of members on the forum are conflating download and installation.

See David R.'s post about long download and long installation, and be patient.
 
Checked my AGT this AM. Had to log into Sirius XM and Tidal again. Appreciate the Google destinations that were added. A couple of newly opened local restaurants didn't show up in the car before the update and now they do. Will do a drive later today and see how things go, but certainly appreciate the update from Lucid. It's been awhile since we have seen one.
 
On my 2022 Air GT (non-CCCv2), is the Google Maps API only used for the "Places" search functionality, or does it power other features too, like routing, traffic, EV charging stops, or the map tiles themselves? I'll bite the bullet but only if it's mandatory for other functionality.

At least for now, my understanding is that Google Maps is handling destination searching only. Navigation, range, and suggested charging stops continue to be handled by HERE.
 
Why do I have to connect my car to WiFi to get my update, and why do I have to connect my Lucid ID to my vehicle, when it’s already connected?

Wi-Fi - because you can get it earlier. ID - I presume a glitch. Hopefully you have already done both by the time this answer gets to you. :)
 
I got it last night. So far really liking the small UX update to the left panel buttons as well as the meaningful map/nav updates. And I can send map destinations from my phone to the car again! Yay

Normally these are downloaded over cellular in the background, so you don’t see the delay between download and installation availability. My car too finished the download and then went to the software is up to date screen. It took about 5-10 minutes for it to show the update as being ready to install.

An odd thing I experienced was after the update was complete and I received the push notification on my phone, I then received another notification that a software update had begun and the app showed a new update in progress, but immediately at 100%. I let it be and was notified about 5 minutes later that the update was complete.

Same thing happened for me (second notification of update installing). Excited to test out the changes when driving later this morning.
 
Could someone with 2.9.0 and CCCv2 check the limits of the new Google Places integration for me? I'd like to know if Google Places includes road/trail information, or just discrete places.
Searching for "Mobius Arch", you can easily see HERE's limitations compared to Google's:

Do the new maps in the car seem to have better road detail like Google's, or still just HERE's?

Now that 2.9 has the 'Flatbed Transport' button working, I thought I'd look into it. Have you ever checked out Lucid's towing instructions? Unless you happen to be assigned Einstein Towing, with a 100% PhD staff, good luck getting your tow truck driver to read and understand the 'how to tow' novel in the Owner's Manual. Yikes! :-)
