Sometime in the past couple months, this "feature" has become far more intrusive, and frankly dangerous. It never used to be so intrusive (I never recall it happening even once), but now it happens all the time on even gentle curves where I wouldn't even expect a semi or RV to slow down. It will happen regardless of if there are cars around, but can cause a dangerous situation if all of a sudden the car slows down 5mph when the car behind of course has absolutely no reason to expect me to slow down.

I contacted customer service, and after 10 days and 5 follow-ups, they finally responded and were more useless than I ever could have imagined. There is also another short thread with a couple complaints on how this "feature" has become much more intrusive recently. Since this became more severe in an update, I'd like to think they can revert back to the previous state no problem.

If anybody else has noticed this, I highly recommend (and request

If the vehicle decelerates, your brake lights will come on. If a driver behind you hits you due to a 5 mph slowdown, they were following too closely IMO.

The HA adjustment to turns, for me, has been welcome. Blindly taking a sweeping turn at 80mph cruise is more irresponsible than slowing down through or as it approaches.

If you have an experiencing significant problems with it, or you feel it is dangerous, simply don’t use it until a service center can take a look. Your car will function as a car without the use of ACC/HA.

I second that, it's very annoying and potentially dangerous. Also, it's not a feature, because I cannot disable it.

HA for me (including this) is a little hit and miss right now but as the image points out, driver is responsible at all times. It's annoying for sure, but I've just learnt to live with it until Lucid can figure it out. I stated in an another post yesterday that using this system causes more anxiety than similar systems I've used in other brands. Whilst I'm more trusting of other systems I certainly have much less trust in Lucid's. I do hope it's something they fix and quickly.

Of course the driver is responsible at all times, and like you said, Lucid's system causes some anxiety so I'm certainly paying close attention, but having to press the accelerator on even gentle curves is rather annoying.

I'm not "blindly taking a sweeping turn at 80". I'm responsibly looking through the gentle curve on an open freeway and seeing that 80mph is an easy task for even a tall, unstable vehicle.

Could be worse..... Ive had is get halfway through the curve and then just decide to give up and want to go straight and run off the road. Definitely a WIP

Oh I meant the car blindly taking the turn at that speed. Pre OTA update that reduced the speed. Not you.

Ahh ok. Since HA only works on specific roads, shouldn't the car know how sharp every curve is? And therefore know how to plan for it?

I don't think HA works based on prev mapping, like GM's supercruise. It just reads the road through radar/camera/lidar/the tinny monkey on the frunk.

The curve slowdown during crazy traffic, along with steering wheel jerks while HA is engaged has made me reach the following conclusions:

1. It easier just to use cruise control as you are maintaining steering without the current slew of hiccups from HA.

2. HA on construction portions of the freeway is too unreliable to enable superior safety

3. I like to use HA when there is light traffic on long stretches that has limited curves.

4. While I appreciate the new features of HA, it’s making decisions that are beyond my comfort level, I wanted to use it regularly to further aid Lucid in refining the technology, however it’s causing more anxiety to battle the steering wheel and override deceleration around curves.

Actually pre HA update, my car’s ACC would slow the car coming into turns, too. I’m not sure if they are using HERE data. HERE advertises as being able to feed that kind of data to ADAS systems if you check this out. But I’m not sure if our cars are using it. Or just the sensors as @marsarbu references above.

Either way, the system needs work for sure.

Oh interesting. In that case, it'd be nice/fun to be able to see what it is seeing á la Tesla

Honestly I might just start doing that as well. Which is certainly too bad

I think the reality is that HA needs a major performance improvement to make it viable. Whether it’s throwing more minds at the problem or licensing technology that has gone through enough iterations to make it compatible with the luxury ev market. I love my Lucid enough to overlook this short coming for 2025.
