Audi E-tron GT
I just ordered an Air GT, sight unseen. No test drive, just input from a friend who has one and a bunch of reading on the Internet (almost all of it here). I have been driving an Audi e-Tron GT for 3-1/2 years, and it has been a spectacular car. Like most high performance EVs, it is blindingly fast, rides great and is a blast to drive. (I am a decent person, but I drive like an a-hole in it 🤪) So fast and smooth! It is supremely comfortable for the front seat passengers. It is luxurious inside, and many of the features are really nice. However it is a 1st generation car, and Audi's software and service suck. And the range is a problem.

So why am I getting an AGT? Three things: roominess, range, and service. The first thing, roominess, is not a huge deal. I would like to be more comfortable driving friends around, and the back seat is a little cramped, but it's a minor source of discontent. I would like to be able to take the car on golf trips with a couple buddies, but I can't do that with the limited cabin and storage space. Range is an issue, even though I don't take many road trips (in the Audi anyway). It charges fast (great charging curve), but my range at 80% is about 180 miles, so I'm stopping about every 2.5 hours. I just hate having to watch my charge level so closely--definitely a PITA.

The service issue is huge. Audi has no idea how to service EVs. Their dealers seem reluctant to make the investment in the proper equipment to service EVs. Their process for getting parts is horrible. Their management of recalls is pathetic. They couldn't possibly make getting service less convenient. There have been 3 different problems that required 4 (yes 4) visits to the dealer to get fixed. I have been an Audi guy for my/our last nine cars, but I will never buy another.

What do I expect from the Lucid AGT? I would be ecstatic if the ride and handling was as good as the Audi. I am ok with some software gremlins (the Audi certainly had its share of those). I will miss the head-up display, but I think I will get used to that pretty quickly. I hope that DD Pro is as capable at lane centering and collision avoidance. I expect the tech to be better, the back seat to be more comfortable, the storage to be more useful, and, perhaps most importantly, the service to be more convenient.

The Audi GT is an awesome car, and I get compliments on it wherever I go, but I can't deal with the shortcomings any more. Hopefully the LAGT will be a worthy substitute.

I have been driving an Air GT since I took delivery in May 2022. Now, I have 48K miles. I love it. Best EV I have had (I have a Teslas and a Rivian). The Air GT is a sports car that seats five comfortably with two trunks. Handles great. Whiplash-inducing acceleration. Dream Drive Pro has lane centering on highways and is very good.

The most luxurious feature of the Air GT is the RANGE. My wife is constantly charging her Rivian R1S, and I only have to charge 1-2 times per week. It seems my wife is always trying to get her Rivian over 50%. Also, since the Lucid is far more efficient, using fewer kW/mile than the Rivian (and everything else), you get more MILES of CHARGE per HOUR on a home charger. On our home charger at 9.5 kW/hr, the Lucid adds 40 miles of charge each hour. The Rivian adds only about 25 per hour. On a daily basis, this is a HUGE luxury.

I have a friend with a Porsche Taycan which is essentially the same car as the Audio e-Tron GT. He is constantly charging as well. He even ran out of charge on the road one time. These problems are not there for the Lucid Air GT.

I have had no major service issues, just a few early recalls to tighten the windshield wiper blades and replace a wiring harness in the dashboard (Lucid service came over and did this in my garage at home in 10 minutes).

In contrast, Rivian had my wife's R1S in their shop for a week to replace a fuse that was preventing the USB-C jacks from charging.

I think that you will love the Air GT as I do.

When the Lucid Gravity is more readily available, we will likely trade in the Rivian for a Gravity.

I ha
I should have mentioned that a big reason I chose the AGT is the huge range. Game changer, I think.
I had a ‘25 Audi Q8 SB e-tron and just sold it at a huge loss after one year. The GT is a much nicer looking car - the Q8 is so blah. My two main reasons for selling were the range was not good enough (300 miles at full charge in the summer) and the tech was horrible. I’ve had my Lucid for about a month and I absolutely love it!
