We haven't had snow in five years I forgot how to do.Easily avoidable. clear the snow
If you breathe on it a lot, it will eventually melt. You may also feel a bit lightheaded. That’s just the thin snow airWe haven't had snow in five years I forgot how to do.
It looks like your vodka-based stash is well on its way to cold!
My baby stays nice in the garage when there is inclement weather, even rain. Fortunately we don't get much rain in Colorado so that rarely comes into play.Easily avoidable. clear the snow
You are misleading people here. Yes, one user did have to pay a repair for water damage. However, that water damage occurred from an open water bottle that the owner was carrying in the trunk. The damage did not occur from loading/unloading the trunk in the rain or from snow falling in when opening the trunk.Strongly suggest the all weather trunk and Frunk mats for this exact reason. One user has a massive bill that was not covered under warranty when water got into his trunk and damaged some components.
Wouldn't a ton of melted ice and snow falling into the trunk result in a similar damage? You are misleading people here. Yes, one user did have to pay a repair for water damage. The majority of the electrical components in the trunk are under the 12V socket on the passenger side. Not even covered by the trunk mats I’ve seen, but already covered by two non-watertight layers. If snow falls in, scoop it back out before it melts and you’ll be fine. However, I would broadly recommend people wipe the snow off any of their cars before opening any of the doors to avoid damaging any of the stuff inside…Wouldn't a ton of melted ice and snow falling into the trunk result in a similar damage?
Oh this is scary since I routinely carry groceries and keep water bottles in the trunk.Strongly suggest the all weather trunk and Frunk mats for this exact reason. One user has a massive bill that was not covered under warranty when water got into his trunk and damaged some components.
If you keep lids on the water bottles, you will be fine.Oh this is scary since I routinely carry groceries and keep water bottles in the trunk.
Yes. But I've definitely had kids water bottle spill after sports events. Luckily nothing has happened yet but good to know that this could be a risk with lucid and maybe other evs? I think I have the lower rubber trunk mat, but will need to invest in a top trunk solution. If you keep lids on the water bottles, you will be fine.
Other modern cars. You're not going to hit the HV system unless you take a jackhammer to your car and pour water on afterwards. It's just the regular 12V and data wiring/components running all around the car, same as in all cars. Keep your liquids in that sub-trunk or frunk, tuck them in so they don't fly around, you'll be fine. I've always done this, it's nothing specific to this car.good to know that this could be a risk with lucid and maybe other evs

OP here. All I did was clean it out and obviously some of it stayed wet, but it dried out within the day. As long as you clean it out and water isn't just being poured in there it's fine. Woulda been fine if pounds of snow fell in - just clean it up.Wouldn't a ton of melted ice and snow falling into the trunk result in a similar damage?
Perhaps…if the owner was then silly (I am being kind with this word) enough to just leave it there to melt…Wouldn't a ton of melted ice and snow falling into the trunk result in a similar damage?
