I took a deeper look at Lucid recently:

A Look at Lucid

It's hard to see how they ever start generating positive cash flow.

Wasn't the plan to sell / license their technology to other manufacturers ?

I would not bet against BIG OIL. LCID is owned by the Saudis ... they are not dumb.

"Wanna know what the business world thinks of you? They think 100 years ago you were living out here in tents in the desert and chopping peoples heads off and that's exactly where you're gonna be in another 100. "
Matt Damon in Syrianna

Sell your ICE vehicle while there are still people stupid enough to buy one.

It’ll be interesting to see their cash burn when they aren’t building out this Saudi facility and bringing the Gravity out.

Right, they have definitely had the luxury to overbuild and spend a lot of CapEx ahead of many things; but that means they don't have to spend much to expand later on. I also don't think Gravity and Air will ever be profitable or event meant to be at the volumes they would have fully ramped (~35-40K).

The volumes they were originally projecting are 3X that by 2025. Production this year will be 10-15% of what the 2021 management projections were.

I don't actually take anything from 2021 seriously, it was a SPAC bubble, and all EV makers and legacy OEMs are 90% off their 'projections'.

They're certainly not dumb, but one might regard some things they've been doing as a bit...optimistic.

Yeah, that was very optimistic, reminds me Tesla roadster with thrusters…,

But Saudi want a car industry. There is no way they will stop funding Lucid.
