I took a deeper look at Lucid recently:

It's hard to see how they ever start generating positive cash flow.

I would not bet against BIG OIL. LCID is owned by the Saudis ... they are not dumb. It's hard to see how they ever start generating positive cash flow.
anyone who expects them to be cash flow positive with low demand luxury Sedans and SUVs while building and tooling factories and developing a midsize needs to go back to schoolI took a deeper look at Lucid recently:

Right, they have definitely had the luxury to overbuild and spend a lot of CapEx ahead of many things; but that means they don't have to spend much to expand later on. I also don't think Gravity and Air will ever be profitable or event meant to be at the volumes they would have fully ramped (~35-40K).It’ll be interesting to see their cash burn when they aren’t building out this Saudi facility and bringing the Gravity out.
The volumes they were originally projecting are 3X that by 2025. Production this year will be 10-15% of what the 2021 management projections were.Right, they have definitely had the luxury to overbuild and spend a lot of CapEx ahead of many things; but that means they don't have to spend much to expand later on. Amen.I don't actually take anything from 2021 seriously, it was a SPAC bubble, and all EV makers and legacy OEMs are 90% off their 'projections'.
They're certainly not dumb, but one might regard some things they've been doing as a bit...optimistic.I would not bet against BIG OIL. LCID is owned by the Saudis ... they are not dumb.
Yeah, that was very optimistic, reminds me Tesla roadster with thrusters…,They're certainly not dumb, but one might regard some things they've been doing as a bit...optimistic.
