3.3.9 Post update

I’ll say since the update, haven’t had any black screens upon load up. Been loading right away. No other issues like others have reported.

I honestly don't recall reading this many posts about issues when I joined the forum 3 years ago, prior to getting my Air.
I'm a bit concerned since this will be my wife's daily car.
Maybe I should drive it for a while until things stabilize, but that'd take away from her the fun of having a new car.

Air launch required a whole software rewrite 9 months in, It was VERY unstable. The Gravity issues are just stupid & annoying, nowhere near as bad as what the Air was. But...... if your wife has very little patience then save yourself being moved into the dog house and drive it first for a while.

Four years ago would have read a little differently. The first year of Air software was an absolute nightmare (until October 2022 when UX 2.0 finally came along and things began to clean up one OTA at a time).

Maybe the Gravity will follow the same trajectory. But, unlike with the Air, the Gravity is not Lucid's first rodeo with UI software, and they did a lot of hyping about how advanced UX 3.0 in the Gravity was going to be.

Yes, I do recall hearing at one time that the slow pace of software updates for the Air was because of Lucid's focus on the Gravity.
So one has to wonder what the heck has been happening.
Low resolution cameras, cold air blasting out, squeaky noise, frequent fob battery replacement, interrupted music streaming, all these are aggravations that I'm willing to put up for version 1 of the Gravity.
But blank display, and as @Boomer AZ mentioned above, "buttons to open trunk, frunk, glove box were missing. Homelink didn’t work", all those, in addition to a reliable fob, are safety and basic convenience features in my book.
Imagine having to fish out the car registration for a police check and can't open the glove box where we normally store these things. Well, there goes the chance to sweet talk the police out of a moving violation ticket.

Not surprising. That was about a year after I got mine (early January 2022). But that launch was much, much worse than Gravity’s.

Which isn’t to say Gravity’s has been great.

I wouldn’t. I’d count the first deliveries of DEs, personally.

After the 3.3.9 update, the most notable things were:

1. Key Fob not detected has now turned into Key Fob Battery Low. I replaced the battery and Low Battery alert went away. Old battery Voltage: 2.942V; New battery voltage: 3.072V.
2. Halo Secure didn't detect USB drive. Unplugged and plugged back in with no change. After long reboot, it was detected.
3. Touch buttons still need serval presses to respond.

On #3 are you talking about on-screen buttons or steering wheel buttons?

My Gravity is still in service but after they figured out the cameras not working I asked them to check the Dream Drive buttons sensitivity before they considered it “solved.” My Service Advisor tested and agreed that my buttons were less responsive than others. They’re actually replacing the steering wheel I believe.

Why wouldn't you?
I'd assume that these first 9 (?) owners would be more likely than regular customers to have a feedback channel to Lucid, especially the guy with initials P.R.

Steering wheel buttons, although the Homelink buttons need a special touch to activate properly too.

Because there was a six month gap. While they did deliver some cars (ours included), not all of them are still owned (our GT is now a DE, for example, which didn’t exist at the time) and those deliveries were to friends and family only.

The public deliveries started some time later, and that’s what I’d count starting from; the public deliveries.

Problem is, 9 months ago Lucid promoted first deliveries and made out everything was good to go. To then delay deliveries a further 6 months and still deliver the quality of software that they did isn’t a good look……They kind of dug their own hole.

No disagreement here. How you count also doesn’t have to be the same as how I count.

Well, 6, 9, or 12, it's all relative.
As long as impactful and sufficient progress is made, that's all that matters at the end of the day.
Off topic here, this reminds me of an admission interview I did for our professional school a few years back.
The applicant was the top graduate in philosophy from U of Chicago, and our discussion somehow led to the concept of the flexibility of time.
He was authentic and quite animated about the subject. I had to redirect our discussion and told him that his views notwithstanding, we expect him to be on time for scheduled activities. That earned a laugh from the guy.
He's graduated from our program since and is now practicing his new craft.

With my GGT now in production, this is the software version mine will most likely be delivered with. I know the number of reviews of 3.3.9 on here is very small but it has me very, very worried. Instead of the 2 steps forward, 1 step back, this appears to be 2 steps forward, 2 steps back. At this current progress, it appears it may be another 6+ months before we have a fully stable software. And no, I am not comforted by those on here that state how Gravity is not as bad as Air software was at this time in development.

I'm 600 miles in with a full spec GGT. Started on 3.3.5 now have 3.3.9.

I have very minor temporary inconvenience issues at most since delivery. New update not noticable yet.

Absolutely love the car. Happy customers not necessarily coming here to post praise.

Maybe they should have just released the Gravity with the now more usable Air software than trying to rewrite the whole software. Having two different software stacks also takes away resources.

Yes, I recognize that many people are not having major issues but virtually every review done on the Gravity over the past couple months (Motor Trend, Consumer Reports, Savage Geese, numerous YouTube Reviewers/Influencers) have mentioned fob issues, can’t get car to start, black screens. And I mean every single one. Not a single review has hinted at anything regarding software stability. All of the glowing reviews that Lucid likes to site are based on the early launch event when reviewers just had a couple hours to live with car. Once reviewers started having long term access to a Gravity, the universal tone from most all reviews has been “Great driving car, glitchy software and QC issues.”
