I am about to pull trigger to order a Touring. However, when it comes to seat option I am kinda stuck.

After trying several seat configurations, I felt the adjustable bolster (side support for lower back) really elevates the sense of sportiness,
with Touring the 20 way seat only comes with Purluxe.

I don't mind Purluxe material, but with it the dash, center console and door trim only comes in fabric which is not my favourite.

Is it worth it to upgrade to GT for the the above reason alone? I don't need 820hp, nor the range as I can charge at home every night,
GT would scarify slight backseat comfort as well but I don't carry adult in the back often.

I tend to keep car for a long time my current ride is 2010, hence wanting to spend on something I won't regret.

Any input is much appreciated, and I am looking forward to finally become an owner.

If you can afford it, get the GT. It feels more luxurious.

Unless you are sitting in the backseat, in which case the elevated floor just feels “off” to me — at least when I sat in one for a short 30 minute ride in a friend’s…
Yah, the backseat in order to compensate for the higher floor, it is tilted with higher thigh support and probably lower butt bucket.

I have a touring and had a GT loaner for a bit. I prefer my touring, but I really do miss those 20-way seats. They are amazing. But the overall driving dynamics feel better to me in the lighter Touring.

Test drove GT and Touring, while GT is a great cruiser it does want to go wide on tighter roundabout at speed.

Touring on the other hand hugs the curve better.

for 1 percent of your time in the car you will regret not having a tighter or lighter turn.. OR for 99 percent of your time you will notice little trim or comfort items that you will wish you paid for. Been there done that with a couple prior purchases

And 100% of the time I will be in the front seats 😆.

Very convincing!

The back footwell is probably the one advantage of the Touring over the GT. It is most certainly less comfortable back there for your back seat passengers. And it's not a small thing. Sit back there for four hours and your knees will feel the difference. I'm never back there, but I do cart people around often enough that it's at least a consideration.

Touring also has some more available options than my current model, like the ability to get massage seats, etc. That shrinks the difference a bit more.

But other than that, if money isn't a problem, the GT does have a lot of extra perks. The extra range alone I would very much appreciate. The horsepower I would argue no one needs. But it's sure nice to have on those days when you want to have a little fun.

As a Touring owner who wishes they had a GT (wouldn't say no to a DE-P, GT-P, or Sapphire either 😉), I'll share what I feel like I'm missing with the Touring, and if none of those matter to you then maybe it's the better option over the GT.

-Range. As someone who does a lot of road trips and spirited driving, the extra battery capacity would be really nice to have. Not to say that the range on my car is insufficient, but there are times I wish I could go farther without stopping, especially when I'm driving "inefficiently".
-Fast charging performance. While still not class leading, charging performance for the GT is significantly better than the Touring. My charging curve almost mirrors that of a Tesla Model 3, which is not impressive.
-Seats. I REALLY wish I had the 20-way massaging seats. As you mentioned the additional bolster adjustments are really nice, and Lucid’s massaging seats are the best I've tried so far.
-Interior materials. This will be subjective, but for reference I have the extended Mojave interior. In my car there is additional leather on the dash and door cards instead of the Alcantra that's in the GT or the fabric that's in the Purluxe version. I actually really love the fabric of the Purluxe over the other two, but the Alcantra in the GT is still really nice.
-If this isn't a car you'll be driving quickly, then the differences in power shouldn't matter much, but I will say Smooth mode in the 2025 GT I recently drove feels like Sprint mode in my car.
-The only other major difference would be the footwells for the rear seats. Having the extra depth does make it more comfortable. I almost never have rear passengers in my car, but if you do often then that's something to consider.

Hopefully this helps!

Thanks for the write up.

I rarely carry anyone in the backseat, just occasionally for school pickup, and being in UAE, most of the drives are less than an hour.

Money is always a problem no matter how much one has got LOL.

- GT remain the range king for the foreseeable future.

- After I tried the 20 ways with massaging, man that seat really locks you in place to enjoy the pinch and punch.

- As regarding to HP, I have read somewhere in the forum that Smooth mode on a GT is de-rated to 620 HP or something similar.

Much appreciated your input.

Smooth and swift modes in all AWD trims have less HP not because it's artificially de-rated, but because they don't engage both motors under normal conditions. Sprint gives you both motors for full AWD HP.

Just to add my voice, I have a Touring and have driven a GT loaner for a week or so.
- The small extra luxuries in the GT's interior are not things I would generally notice.
- The Touring feels lighter and more nimble to me. The GT did not feel like it packed a lot of extra punch to me, it mainly felt heavier. I suspect its extra power would really shine at higher (> 100mph) speeds, but the loaner was speed limited to 88 or something so I couldn't say for sure.
- I absolutely would get massage seats, that is the one thing I'm missing.
- I would have said I'd never spend time in the back seat as well before I got this car, but I do. Just because I can, and it's nice back there. If I have down time between appointments I'll sometimes just sit back there and read. Sometimes I go somewhere with a view just to sit in the back seat and get some work done. It's like I'm bringing a nice sofa and sound system in a private room with me everywhere I go.

You'll be surprised how often the extra range, or faster charging on the road (charging to lower SOC than you'd need in the Touring for the equivalent range) comes in handy. Between that and the upgraded interior, I'd have to vote for the GT on this one. I don't regret getting a lightly used GT at all, the warranty support has been great.

I have a Touring as well after test driving both side to side and having a couple GT loaners. Completely agree with your points:

- Power difference in sprint not really noticeable up to the 80mph limit of the loaners/demo cars
-Touring feels more nimble and handles better
-Touring has better rear seats
-GT charge curve and Range noticeably better
-I suppose it is a bit of a bummer that you can’t get 20 ways with leather in a Touring

I guess this point is clear but Incase it isn’t, you can get 20-way massage seat as an option on lower trims. It is pure lux for lower trims, not leather. I have massage seats on my 2024 pure and we love it.

Thank you for the input.

I set in one and can see myself chilling on it.

Earlier Purluxe had a batch of weaker material which Lucid honored the warranty and replaced those.

How is yours holding up?

Mine is about 5 months old but so far holding up great and no signs of trouble so far.
