I am writing to express my serious concern regarding a recent safety incident with my 2022 Lucid Air Dream Edition (20,000 miles).

Two days ago, while stopped at a red light on a local road, my vehicle suddenly failed when I accelerated. Two warning signs appeared on the dashboard: "Drive System Fault" and "Automatic Vehicle Hold Fault." The car stopped moving, but I was fortunately able to limp it to the roadside. I then waited three hours for a tow truck, which caused me to miss an appointment. I am deeply relieved this total drive system failure did not occur at highway speeds.

My vehicle is currently at the Lucid repair center. It remains in diagnostic mode, and I have not yet received an explanation for the failure. Additionally, I requested a loaner vehicle from my service provider, who said he would check availability, but I have not received an update.

While I have experienced a few minor issues during my ownership, this incident raises serious safety concerns. I have left a message requesting a callback, as I am currently evaluating other vehicles to potentially replace my Lucid Air.
 
After I reviewed the issue on the website, it loses power while driving due ot inverter or high-voltage INTERLOCK glitches
—matches the exact description of official safety recalls issued by Lucid and monitored by the NHTSA. By law, any defects tied to an official safety recall must be repaired with updated parts entirely at the manufacturer's expense, regardless of my current mileage.

I have experienced this and it was fine. The warning came up and the car continued to move down the highway, it just couldn't accelerate.

It gave me plenty of time to slow down and pull over to the shoulder. Once stopped , then it would still move about 2mph (with some grinding noise but it moved), enough to adjust my location at the shoulder and pull farther over.

I am glad that you were able to move your car to pull over to the shoulder.
 
That's unfortunate. Hope they can fix it quickly - or at least get that loaner to you.
 
I assume this will be covered under the powertrain warranty. Hopefully they get you moving quickly!

My experience is Lucid is superb at honoring warranty issues.

What DE number do you have? And where is your service center? Some on the forum may have advice on how to speed up communication.

Somebody once said the early vehicles are pretty much hand built so I am a little surprised that it popped up this late in the game; 20K is reasonable for a thorough break-in.

I don't think it's fair to call this a "serious safety concern." Maybe if something caused the wheels to lock up at speed I'd be inclined to agree, but it sounds like this particular issue resulted in a fail-safe event where you didn't experience a total loss of control and were able to navigate the vehicle to a safe location.
 
If you have experienced limp mode you might not be so quick to question the OP's input
When my front motor failed, the limp mode was so slow that it was not safe to get the car off the road to a parking lot
Thankfully when it happened to my Air GT Performance, there was very little traffic on the road
Lucid made all things well and the car has been fine since then

yes, a car motor failing can be a dangerous situation

that does not make it a 'serious safety concern,' which implies it is a thing that is likely to happen.
 
Being an apologist and you defining something does not change the facts
Lucid has issues with elements of the cars failing and to some folks that is a serious safety concern

Every brand on the planet has issues with “elements of the cars failing” because that is literally what happens to cars sometimes.

Thank you for your kind words. The warranty covers it. Even though it's covered. I am just worried that some unexpected might happens again in the future.

Hi, I have a 072 "DE" number, and my service center is located in Plainview, NY.
I do not drive the car often. I did have some issues with the air conditioning that is not blowing heat in the past, but nothing like this.

I am glad that thing well and the car has been fine since then. I hope that I will have the same result.

Any updates on this issue? My AGT experienced this today. Getting towed tomorrow. I put less than 500 miles on the car.
