Excise Tax (Texas) on 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Lease

Lucid Financial Services finally reversed the tax. They didn’t admit an error despite telling me repeatedly that the tax was correct and owed. They have yet to confirm my affidavit for 2024 is properly uploaded. More time to waste on the phone but at least 2023 is taken care of.

Excise Tax (Texas) on 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Lease

The saga continues. The Dallas County Appraisal District confirms that a leased vehicle used for personal reasons is not subject to property tax. They suggested I speak to the Tax Department at LFS. Multiple calls to LFS requesting their records of when they submitted my affidavit (form 50-285)...

Excise Tax (Texas) on 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Lease

Over a week later and LFS still hasn’t gotten me a new affidavit. I asked for it to be emailed and the rep said “if we can do that, it should arrive within 3 days, if not, we’ll mail it.” They are rather clueless, unfortunately. Definitely makes leasing with Lucid a frustrating experience. It...

Excise Tax (Texas) on 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Lease

I’ve spent about thirty minutes on the phone with LFS. Still no firm resolution but they admit it’s an error. They don’t have my notarized affidavit from this year which was sent in about two months ago. First a rep told me she couldn’t access that info at all. Then later she said she could and...

Excise Tax (Texas) on 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Lease

The adjusted capitalized cost of my vehicle was approximately $134,500. Making the tax approximately $8409. Due at time of signing was $8322. (Thank you for your help - I am very appreciative.)

Excise Tax (Texas) on 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Lease

Yes. Randomly with my most recent monthly statement there was an additional $2500 listed as a “fee”. I had to call to get an explanation and was told it was an “excise tax”.

Excise Tax (Texas) on 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Lease

In the lease is a section labeled “estimated official fees and taxes you must pay during the lease.” The amount listed, save for approximately $170, was due and paid at time of lease signing.

Excise Tax (Texas) on 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Lease

Hi- I have a 2022 Grand Touring on which I have been making regular lease payments in Texas since I acquired the vehicle in December of 2022. I was surprised to see an additional fee of approximately $2500 show up on my most recent statement (February 2024). I called in and was told this is for...

    Hail damage in Chicago

Thanks for your response. As far as I can tell, the roof glass survived. The nearest service center to me is 250 miles away in Houston. Ugh.

    Hail damage in Chicago

What was your outcome? They replaced the hood? Sadly my Lucid Air GT was damaged tonight in a storm. Dime-sized dents on hood. Couldn’t see any on the trunk upper panel but I’m sure there have to be some. The black window trim had a dent as well. I submitted a claim to USAA.

    DFW Area Lucid Tinting

I placed mine behind the driver’s visor. I use it to access two separate properties. It always works for one, while for another I have to reverse a time or two to get it to pick up and open the gate. My preference is for it to be hidden from view inside the cabin which is why I selected that...

    DFW Area Lucid Tinting

I went to Xpel Dallas based on the recommendations here. It was a fantastic experience and I recommend the shop wholeheartedly. Thank you to those who gave the recommendations.

    Mobile key optimal function advice?

The mobile key in terms of its reliability is supremely frustrating to me. It’s Murphy’s law, as when I approach to take my other vehicle (parked adjacent and which doesn’t have any mobile key component), the Lucid invariably opens up. If I’m not planning to take the other car, half the time it...

    USB Ports

I cannot get the center console ports to charge my iPhone. Rear work fine. Anyone with same experience?

    Front windshield chip/crack

As an update on my vehicle: Lucid was able to get it down and back to Houston from Dallas in about a week. Parts: $1810.91 Labor: $660 Transport: $2473 Insurance covered it all minus $1000 deductible.

    Front windshield chip/crack

Update: closest service center is Houston. I’m being quoted $1200 - $1600 / way for transport. 🤪 No choice but to do it.

    Front windshield chip/crack

From what I can tell, if they cannot fix it, but rather have to replace the glass, it’s subject to my normal deductible. And USAA provides no option for a glass rider / deductible. (At least for this vehicle where I live, it’s not an option I can add.) This is the first time USAA has...

    Front windshield chip/crack

USAA told me to find someone to fix it. So, naturally, I’m going through Lucid. Assuming I’ll pay my $1000 deductible which is fine

    Front windshield chip/crack

I was trying to do everything “above board” with USAA. They suggested they set me up with an approved provider, and Safelite it was. The Safelite rep told me it would likely have to be done through Lucid.

    Front windshield chip/crack

The USAA rep only asked if the crack was greater than 6”. At that time, it was not. I didn’t have much faith that the rep would grasp the issue even with a photo. But I’ve since uploaded images to my claim.
