    Total Eclipse anyone ?

@dsherris and I were able to use the single not-terribly-fast (45 kWH) charger at Ben & Jerry’s before they opened thanks to a crusty but understanding security guard. That made all the difference, as we were then able to hook up to a couple of L2 chargers in town for long enough that we had no...

    Total Eclipse anyone ?

Though there’s the potential for double counting, all together we had at least nine Lucids spotted in VT and NH for the eclipse. @dsherris, Nick, and I were in Stowe, and @Bunnylebowski ran into several Lucids at the (horrendous) EA chargers in Lebanon, NH. More importantly, I was able to drive...

It’s not the eclipse. It’s the Heady.

    Total Eclipse anyone ?

I posted in the New England forum about this, but it's funny that Vermonters are concerned that the traffic apocalypse that will occur on Monday will be on the scale of the 30 mile back-up created on I-91 by the crowd of 100K people headed to Phish's last concert. A few of us are heading to...

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

Hello New England Lucid-ites: The total eclipse is one week away! The good news: As of today, it looks like it'll be (mostly) sunny in Stowe, VT. We'll have two telescopes. I have a few extra pairs of eclipse glasses (the cheap kind) as well. The bad news: Reports of traffic and crowds in...

New Touring owner in Southern NH

I'm in Needham but enjoy the tax free shopping in NH. We're organizing a Lucid rally to Stowe VT for the eclipse. Let me know if you'd like details. Also, @Snafu and @Spin Doctor are both in NH. Good people.

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

Yes, Newton Free Library. When's the earliest you could be there? The more I read about eclipse traffic, the more I'm thinking a stupidly early start is best. Maybe 6 or 7 am.

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

We'll be heading to Stowe, where it shouldn't be too hard to find a spot, I hope.

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

Burlington VT is expecting 35K to 50K visitors based on hotel reservations and airport data, so should double the population of Burlington.

Worst case scenario, we can sack out at my condo in Stowe for an evening. It'll be crowded. Might want to pack a sleeping bag just in case.

A Cautionary Tale: My Experience with Lucid Motors Customer Service

I’m trying to figure out why this is a cautionary tale about Lucid customer service. Could you be a bit more explicit about the lessons to be learned regarding Lucid specifically? Sounds like threatening legal action should be our default because Lucid won’t engage otherwise? Do you have a...

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

The route is pretty straightforward and a great drive. We’ll be starting essentially from the Newton Free Library at 330 Homer St. driving up to Stowe Elementary School. It’s 210 miles and easily done without re-charging. Google Maps route is here. I love the idea of stopping by Moultonborough...

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

Just a few notes: * Per USA Today, the chance of clear skies is 47.5% in Burlington and 52.5% in Stowe. * Stowe is a little further from the totality path so only gets 2:53 of totality whereas Burlington gets 3:19. (St. Albans, VT will get 3:35!) * Stowe has Heady Topper.

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

Hi everyone, the final plans haven’t been completely set yet, but here’s where things stand. We have two options for eclipse viewing: Burlington or Stowe. For both options, we would plan to leave before 8 am from Newton, MA to arrive in VT by noon-ish. My friend will be bringing a telescope...

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

Not a problem! After all... (Turn around, bright eyes) Every now and then we drive apart! Depending upon how crowded Burlington might be and upon weather, we may need to head up to Lancaster, too. My buddy, who is an amateur astronomer, will be with me and is bringing his telescope. He grabbed...

A Total Eclipse from the Car!!!! (New England Spring Lucid Rally)

No decisions about this, but there are several possibilities. I think the best place to see the eclipse could be from the Colchester causeway, which is a 10 foot walking path crossing parts of Lake Champlain. You’ll definitely have unobstructed views, but it’ll be windy and cold. However...
