Dash cam

Saksak - did you install a dash cam for your Lucid?
No, not for my Gravity - only for my three other older vehicles being driven by wife/kids. The peace of mind knowing I’ll have hard evidence in case of an accident is well worth the $$.

Halo secure works while driving, but I’ve been considering installing a dashcam for monitoring while parked. I’d be very interested in your video comparison!

Yeah, of course; I’m not suggesting you don’t tap them. But they’re not for nothing. :)

Also the fuse layout you posted is only for one of the 3 LVJB’s in the car.

Here are the fusebox layouts: https://lucidowners.com/attachments/lucid-fuse-information-optimized-pdf.11519/

Keep in mind that’s not fully up to date; for example, the rear 12v trunk outlet fuse is now in the rear LVJB, not the cabin LVJB.

Borski - you mentioned in an ancient post that the fuse responsible for the rear 12v trunk outlet was moved from the cabin LVJB to the rear LJVB (I.e., no longer MB10 in the fuse diagram) at some point in the product cycle. Do you happen to know which fuse now protects the 12v trunk outlet? I’m in a 2026 Touring and my 12v trunk outlet is not receiving power (tested with multimeter). I can’t seem to track down a more up-to-date fuse diagram than the one shared in dashcam postings.

A lot of people have asked about which fuses to connect to, and I haven't seen a concise answer.

I just installed a Rove R2-4D Dual Pro in my Air. I used the hardwire kit. I ran the cord around the edge of the ceiling parts, 3/4 of the way around the passenger seat to the A pillar, halfway down the A pillar, then crossed to the back of that pillar and under the door seal rubber where two pieces of liner come together (this is below the curtain airbag). A couple of inches of cable are visible when the door is open as I cross the end of the dash to duck below the glove box. I used the fuse panel under the glove box (remove the cover with four T20 screws). I connected the always on power to MB12 "Interior Radar and Intrusion Detection Sensor", and the accessory power to MB10 "Trunk 12V Outlet". The hard part was finding a ground screw--all of the obvious ones were screwed into plastic. I finally used one of the ones that seals the electronics compartment next to the fuse panel. One of my early attempts at grounding caused the dashcam to be unreliable at turning on.

I haven't installed the rear camera yet. I want to run just the front for a little while and make sure it is working well. Testing the parking mode was tricky, as there is no simple way to turn off a Lucid. I ended up standing about 20 feet behind the car where I could see the dashcam through the rear window, and could see the screen change when it went into parking sentry mode, about 2 minutes after the car locked itself.

Thank you for this! Really detailed. Is it possible to get a picture of what ground you used? I'm having trouble finding a good one as well. I found the one in the pic but couldn't get any of my tools into the space to loosen it.

I meant to take photos, but forgot. So I just stole the photo from @RM-S8 's post earlier in this thread and made some annotations.

I installed an older Thinkware F750 dual channel in my Air. Full disclosure, I hit a road bump in the installation an went to a local car audio place that I've worked with before and let them finish the install. The dash cam came out of a totaled Volt my wife used to drive. Since she replaced it with a Model Y she didn't need it installed in that car so it just sat in a box.

As @maractwin pointed out, MB10 in the passenger compartment fuse box is the one to use. I also installed a Thinkware external battery to handle the parking scenarios. I had run into some issues with finding space to rout all the excess wire. When I stuffed it in the roof liner I couldn't get the roof liner pieces snapped back into place.

All is good now. Car is out having some collision work done. When it gets back I'll look at posting some video captures from it.

For anyone wondering, the 12v trunk outlet fuse is now MB11 in the rear LVJB.
