Another simple subwoofer install with pics

If I recall correctly, the negative is black whereas the positive is green. That should do it for you!
Thank you for your response. I am going to detail my install and set up a new post for my installation of a Rockford Fosgate P300-12T.

When I disconnect the cables to the negative post on the 12V battery in the trunk, to install the power for the amp, how long will it take for the car to reboot and will I have to redo my log in and Bluetooth connection to my phone? I do not want to damage my car or make it a large brick.

If my assumption is correct based on your previous picture, you won't need to disconnect the 12v or negative from the battery. After unscrewing the nut securing the 12v wire, you should be able to slide your 8-gauge ring terminal onto the 12v post and reapply the nut without ever disconnecting anything (other than the plastic cap). The same thing can be done with your ground wire and the negative battery post.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I haven't actually dug around the trunk and I'm just basing this on the photo.

Super dumb question - But are there any issues with disconnecting the 12V ground to connect power on the positive terminal for a Fosgate P300-12T? AI says if you disconnect the 12V ground that it will mess up the whole car and possible cause a short, causing the car to think it was in an accident, and shutting everything down.

Mine has a solid green wire and green and black wire. Is the green and black the negative speaker connection?

I thought any time you add something to a 12V battery, your have to remove the ground in order to connect power for an amp to avoid shorts or damaging something. I do not have a nut, it is a star bolt that screws into the battery. I need to remove it in order to get the connector ring in place and then tighten the star bolt back in.

Can anyone clarify this. I have ran all my connections from the stock 8" sub, the ground from the trunk by the latch, power cable from the powered sub into the 12V battery compartment, and tied/secured everything except the final connection to the positive terminal of the 12V battery.

On ICE vehicles I've always removed the negative terminal. I installed mine today without disconnecting 12v or negative. I didn't plug the power into the amp until everything was done. My plan was to pop the fuse in after all connections were made but the type of fuse holder that came with my wiring kit wouldn't allow for that (something you may want to try if you have the right type of fuse housing).

No sparking, no issues. In fact, after I was done and had everything buttoned up my 12v slipped out of the fuse housing and I uninstalled everything, redid the wiring, and reinstalled it, still with no issues.
