I mean the fact that you can work around it with HA suggests it COULD be fixed with an OTA.I believe it is a hardware limitation. It's been there for nearly five years.

Only by keeping the car awake, which isn't practical for power consumption.I mean the fact that you can work around it with HA suggests it COULD be fixed with an OTA.
It doesn't have to stay awake constantly. Even a brief "wake just enough to check every 15/30/60 minutes would at be an improvement.Only by keeping the car awake, which isn't practical for power consumption.
My belief is that the Air's charging hardware isn't capable of waking the car to charge when external power becomes available. It doesn't have to stay awake constantly. Even a brief "wake just enough to check every 15/30/60 minutes would at be an improvement.
Makes me wonder that the root cause is that it can't detect "plugged in and has power" within the same wakefulness as being aware of the time for scheduling, or looking for a fob signal, or the SMS messages from the app, or checking for updates, etc..
It still seems to work fine with my Wallbox Pulsar Plus. Charges without issue, and I have the schedule set on both. The Air just isn't compatible with external charge scheduling from any AC charging source, unless you help it with Home Assistant.
Gravity has different charging system hardware and does charge properly with externally timed power.
Isn't that HA integration great? I use it every day.
Your Air charges with the Wallbox set to schedule the charge? Did you also set your Air for a scheduled charge that starts a few minutes before the Wallbox is set to start, so that the car wakes up in time for the charge? It still seems to work fine with my Wallbox Pulsar Plus. I set them for the same time. I’ll double check when I’m home in a few weeks.Your Air charges with the Wallbox set to schedule the charge? Did you also set your Air for a scheduled charge that starts a few minutes before the Wallbox is set to start, so that the car wakes up in time for the charge?
