Lucid Connected Home Charging System Installation tips!

I only get the red flash after the click and the manual claims red is a grounding issue which makes no sense. FYI the voltage you mentioned is well within spec for US households.

Any ideas? Perhaps @GTdreamer has an update on this issue?
Is the outlet's ground connection OK?
 
The sizes below are based on the NEC and will work for the majority of installations, but consult a licensed electrician to confirm.

Based on 122ºF ambient temps per NEC 310. For single-circuit raceways only.

Runs longer than about 100 ft, wires run through an attic, and multiple circuits sharing the same conduit may require larger wire sizes.

Breaker sizes larger than 50A must be hardwired directly to the EVSE.

A neutral wire is not required unless feeding a NEMA 14-50 receptacle, then it must be included.

The 100A circuit is included for maximum power from the LCHCS.

* One update on the charging speed; I pulled this chart from an F150 Lightning forum where the onboard charger is limited to 48A.

For a 70A breaker, you can charge at up to 50A on some of the hardwired chargers.

With the LCHCS, you’ll be able to use the full “Max load” all the way up to 80A on a 100A breaker, provided you have the right sized wiring, breakers, panel, and everything else.

Please consult an electrician unless you are doing a “like for like” exchange, and even then I’d recommend it.

Yes sir, confirmed working.
The charger HAS worked in the past, just refuses to anymore and nothing has changed about the install.
The ground fault is a serious safety problem. It indicates a short somewhere - a current path through the ground wire that shouldn’t be there. Just because it worked in the past doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem now. It can develop over time. See I Touched a Hot Wire to Ground for what it means and the dangers.
 
But is current at zero? Leak from the hots to ground likely won't be large enough to raise a measurable voltage yet be large enough to trigger safety shutdows.

Good point - however, as the ground bus is common across the house, any current there would cause other GFCIs to trip too to my mind and none have. Perhaps I am misreading the manual which says a red light flashing once is a ground fault, perhaps it represents something else like a general error state?

Not an electrician, but I think each circuit's GFCI only sees current flowing on its ground circuit (to the common bus). Also I'm unsure of the safest way (other than to call a pro) to check for ground leakage.

Per manual, Red Flashing means LCHCS is protecting itself due to external errors. Unplug the charger from the car. Power cycle the LCHCS. If the fault does not clear, contact Lucid.

Ground being at 0 V (I assume relative to Neutral - it should be 120 or 240 relative to Hot) does not mean there isn’t a problem. Voltage tests are only a starting point to identify the most obvious problems. You could have good voltage readings, yet have a return path through Ground.

Ground faults can be tricky to find, requiring continuity tests with isolated circuits. Even then, there could be a short that only appears under high voltage conditions that a standard voltmeter won’t find, such as weak insulation. These cases require special instruments to detect.

Unfortunately, either you have a wiring problem or the EV charger is defective.

Yea, I think I misread the manual and the red blink is an internal error - something is wrong with the charger. Need to get a warranty replacement.
 
Last night, I was trying to charge to 95% since I'm taking a trip today. It wouldn't go past 90% without continuous clicking and sending messages that charging has stopped. I power cycled the charger and after it came back on, it flashed orange twice. The manual says this means there was a firmware update. After that, it went to 95% perfectly. I don't want to open champagne after one incident, but I'm hopeful the problem is fixed. If you are still having the problem, try power cycling the charger, assuming you've connected it to the internet. Watch to see if you get 2 orange flashes.
 
How can you tell what the version number of the firmware for the charger is? Perhaps you can tell if you go into the configuration, but I’m having trouble connecting to that now.

The replacement charger is working seamlessly now. The version numbers are on the charger's portal.
