Is this the Lucid Service Promise? 4 weeks in, escalated, and completely ghosted by Frankfurt SC.

Hey everyone,

I really need to vent and see if anyone else has experienced this level of abysmal communication with Lucid Service, specifically the Frankfurt Service Center.

Before I get into the details, I want to make one thing clear: I absolutely love this car. When it is on the road, it is an incredible piece of engineering and an absolute joy to drive. I am a huge fan of the vehicle itself. However, the current service experience is severely testing my patience and ruining the premium feel of the brand.

I dropped my car off at the Frankfurt Service Center four weeks ago for what was supposed to be a one-week appointment to address the following issues:

  • The automatic lane keeping / Highway Assist (where the car steers itself and keeps the lane without active input) is simply not working.
  • The car constantly triggers an "unattended occupant" alarm, even when the vehicle is completely empty, parked in the dark, perfectly still, and no one is anywhere near it.
They gave me a loaner, but with a massive catch: I’m only allowed to drive it within Germany. I live right in a border region, so I immediately pointed out that this doesn't work for me. They said they’d "check with insurance," but I was quickly brushed off the next day with a "no news yet." Because of this, I’ve had to pay out of pocket for three separate rental cars just to cross the border over the last month.

The real issue, though, is the communication. At the two-week mark, I had to call them to get an update. A very nice rep did actually call me back and said the car would be done in two days—they were just waiting on a steering wheel replacement and needed to do a test drive.

Since then? Absolute radio silence.

I have called them multiple times. Every single time, they promise to call me back "by the end of the day" with an update. Every single time, they don't. 48 hours ago, I finally lost my temper on the phone and told them this is unacceptable. They assured me the issue was being escalated directly to the Regional Service Manager.

It has been over 48 hours since that escalation, and guess what? Still no call. Still no info.

Is this how Lucid treats its customers? Is this the premium service promise? I can understand if parts are delayed or repairs take longer than expected—things happen. But to repeatedly promise callbacks, completely ignore the customer, and fail to provide a simple "Hey, here is the situation..." update is just disrespectful.

Has anyone else dealt with this, maybe even specifically with the Frankfurt location? How did you finally get someone to actually talk to you and give you your car back?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Since you are in Europe/Germany, there are not many in here with any experience with their centers over your way. I would advise just going down there to talk to them if you can't raise anyone on the phone, and I don't know if it will work in that service center, but another trick some of us use to get a person on the phone is to call the sales line at the SC and someone ALWAYS is picking up those lines from what I've found and ask them to get a hold of someone in service. In the US, their service centers are quite overwhelmed right now. No idea if your center/s are overwhelmed or if there isn't enough work and they are very understaffed? I hope you can get thru and get it done.

On a side note, does the DD work in Europe? Is that a feature they specifically said is available in that region? Some US tech companies and features are restricted or have to change their ways of working or disable them to comply with GDPR and other regs out that way. Also, the DD system is designed to work on highways and mapped roads really, so if you are trying it, and it does work in your region, it's possible you haven't tried it on an approved road. Just throwing this out there, could be completely wrong.

As far as I was told after my demo drive last week, the sale rep told me DDP poro with hand free is fnot allowed for example. They hope it will be in Q3/Q4 2026...

@Patrick O finally some German with a gravity ;)
I just did the test drive last week and was thinking of getting a 7 seater as a audi etron replacement. I live roughly 2,5h from Frankfurt, so my service center would be Witten

I also did a test drive before i bought the car. So i know what should work and can compare this to what is working now. So in any way it is much better than what telsa offers here in germeny right now.

Its really an amazing car. So you should buy it. Except the communication with the service everything works quite well. I got a call back yesterday from the service center from a very friendly person. He explained everything why this mess happened. He gave me his mobile number for direct contact. So now the communication works, fortunatly.
