Lucid Gravity UX 3.6 is here!

You might want to look closely at what special characters you use. The valid list for the web site are not the same as the car and the length of the string is not the same either.
Good idea because I know the caret (^) works on site/app but not the car. However, my special characters are available on the site, app, and car. Thanks for the idea.

First 3 hour drive since the 3.6 update. Mixed bag.

Also had a 3 hour drive, similar... CO mountain driving.

Key fob opened the car yards away a few times and did not respond a few times as i sat next to the door waiting.

Same.

Hands free took about 20 minutes on a two lane non divided road to calibrate and then was activated.

Same.

Hands free is pretty nice but there were a few times where it said hands free available and then a minute later, hands free not available in this area and then back to hands free available. Switched back and forth about 6 times.

Same. Assuming it is map based they should increase the minimum distance for a segment (and if it isn't long enough then just drop that segment).

It automatically changed lanes nicely so far, but didn't automatically change back to the right hand lane in preparation for my exit, but that might just be because I was navigating on Android Auto.

Do not like the new correction on lane assist. Almost makes you worry it is going to over correct.

I had the same feeling the first time, but got used to it after a couple of times. I've had other cars that just slam on the brakes in this circumstance on I70 and go from 70mph to 30mph because a truck is struggling up a hill at 20mph. Maybe not perfect, but I prefer it over the alternative from other manufacturers.

I am on conservative driving style and it really slows down too much for curves. As in angering the people behind you slow. Should slow down maybe 2-3mph and instead is doing 10+. I just take over at that point.

yeah, but this is similar to Rivian (now) or Tesla a few years ago. Lucid just needs more confidence with more miles done.

Efficiency went down for the first 30 minutes of the trip and then seemed to smooth out. This is taking into account terrain etc. i lost 5% of my estimated arrival time writhing the first 30 miles. Then it went back up and i arrived within 1% the remaining 3 hours.

I haven’t seen this mentioned, but on the car guidance pilot panel screen where you show the entire route, it now acts like CarPlay and enlarges the route and lets the completed part of the route flow off screen. You no longer see the full route from start to finish.

I was on Android Auto.

Also, the map did not show a lot of chargers that i knew to be along the route, especially EA. At first, all my settings were turned off, so all charging options were off. I turned them back on and it only showed Chargepoint. But there were EA and tesla chargers along the route as well. I wonder if that is a google thing.

This is a nice update, but i really wanted PAAK.

Yeah, I can understand them slowing all development to save on the cash bleed. I'm worried the new CEO may not be an EV person and doesn't realize they won't get ex-Tesla and ex-Rivian unless they have PaaK. They need PaaK.

I still can't verify my identity after probably 20 attempts. I have no problems knowing my password, I've even changed my password with a different special character (and then tried) and changed it back. I checked my app was up to date. Still nothing after a day. The app automatically logged me out an hour ago, so I logged back in, but still no.

I can assure you PaaK is still coming.

If we can tick the boxes of:
  • PaaK comes.
  • Service near me keeps doing a good job (which is needed for Lucid's reputation anyway).
  • Lucid survives, and also needs to look like it will survive.
Then we'll be happy. I don't really care how many Gravities they sell.

You should care how many Gravities they sell since that directly affects their survival and also ensures ample supply of parts for service - which are two out of three of your bullets :p

Selling a $200k car [including warranty service costs] for $100k may not help them survive when burn rate is the issue. Trying to make it up in volume doesn't help.

You're demonstrating a common misunderstanding of how the automotive business works. The Gravity, like the Air and the upcoming Cosmos, has a breakeven volume number. More sales=improved margins. In other words, the cost per vehicle is not fixed as you're describing.

A little late to the party here, but wanted to weigh in and also ask a question. I received my notification about the update while I was at work on Wednesday of this week (10 June). I installed it while my Gravity was in the parking garage at work, and it took a little over two hours to complete. Gravity sat in the parking garage for another four hours sleeping. I finished up work at about 9:00p so it was dark outside when I left. When I approached the car to drive home, I was surprised by the responsiveness of auto unlocking. Before the update, I had to stand near the car for a couple of seconds before it would respond, but this time it did so UPON APPROACH! I also remember thinking this was the first time I was actually able to see (and enjoy) the welcome light sequence on unlock, since previously, I'd already be standing next to the driver-side door before Gravity would sense the key and unlock. Very nice 😊

I was asked to verify my identity, and did so. I received the expected DDP2 'Unavailable' message, dismissed it, and started my 45-mile drive home. I followed the instructions for DDP2 calibration, and centered my Gravity in a middle lane (on highway 280 for those familiar with the San Francisco Bay Area). I expected calibration to take up to 30 miles (per the instructions), but my calibration finished after about 10 miles of driving. Gotta say I absolutely LOVE hands free! It's sooo much more stable than the previous version. Lane centering is spot on; lane changes are more deliberate (mine is in the aggressive setting) and everything just feels more intentional.

I also noticed a significant improvement in audio via CarPlay. Highs are a tad more ethereal, and lows are super solid and feel a little more dimensional (if that makes sense).

The matrix lights are a head trip! I've never had a car with that capability before. My previous car (Tesla Model X Plaid) had the feature, but it was disabled pending government approval and I traded that car for my Gravity before the feature was ever activated. Love watching the little dark patches move around the road, shielding other cars from the bright lights. Super cool.

I noticed the high beams were persistently on for my entire drive home. I subsequently read through the release notes more thoroughly, and it mentions this being normal.

Question for the group: if high beams are always on, and that's normal, what's the utility of low beams now? Will those ever trigger? Are they fallback in the event the matrix capability malfunctions?

The new update seems to be getting great reviews on Twitter. Anyone having similar experiences?
I’m super impressed the assertive setting in DD crossing San Francisco 6 lane bridge and on to SFO airport through heavy traffic pit a smile on my face… the gravity used all lanes in ac way I could not have done better without hyper focus. And I’m German and drive a lot on German Autobahn :-) . The anti dazzle headlights ours another awesome feature. So much better than many other systems. Another thing that finally improved is the phone audio.

I notice the adaptive beam turns off whenever you’re driving underneath street lights even at above 25 mph.

Anyone’s easy entry bugged? My seat will go back to my profile position, but my steering wheel doesn’t. I need to click restore every drive to bring it back to my profile setting.

EDIT: The fix is to switch profiles and switch back for anyone with the same issue.

Just a question on lane changes. Is it only done with the turn signal or will the car weave through traffic if an empty lane is available? Love the no nag and the adaptive headlights. Key fob is still spotty, sometimes asking to shake key when I’m in car. That usually doesn’t work so I take the battery out of the fob and then success. I have been asked to put in password but that prompt only lasts a few seconds and then disappears on its own

My high beam indicator stays lit, however low beams were active during slow speed driving and certain lighted intersections. Don't know if your lights actually never went to low beam or continued to show high beam blue light on dash but are actually in low beam mode.
  • Adaptive High Beam Performance
Adaptive Driving Beam technology dynamically adjusts high beams to enhance visibility while minimizing glare for other drivers.
    • Note: The high beam indicator may remain illuminated while this feature is active, which is expected behavior.

I read the notes quickly and realized calibration requires three lanes since it needs a lane on each side. I've been driving on a two lane divided highway mostly since the update. I need to find the right highway on my drive home lol

They low beams stay one when there is ample light, like street lights or if it’s dusk and not dark enough to trigger the high beam. Otherwise, the high beams are the default for the car. I believe you can turn that all off tho.

It’s not that type of system, like FSD. It won’t take exits or get the car ready to take exits. This is just a highway ADAS. It’ll keep going till the highway ends!

I've only used DD on a couple of drives. It did really well on I95 in traffic. I felt like it the auto lane changing was making good decisions on when to change lanes. It left me in in the left lane trailing someone going about my desired speed even though there was an sufficient opening to my right in the middle lane. I think it realized we were slowly creeping up on the car in middle lane even though it was some distance off.

At one point I did get behind someone camping in the left lane going barely over the speed limit. There was plenty of opportunity for the car to pass on the right but it never did. I should have kept DD on and manually initiated a lane change, but I wasn't thinking and just turned off DD temporairly and went around them.

You can still initiate a lane change manually by half pushing turn signal. Car will change lanes (if open) but will not disable the auto lane change setting.
