Disappointed? Rate your satisfaction 1-10 scale

2023 Air Pure AWD, picked up January 2024, 44k miles, lifetime efficiency 3.54.

Overall I'd give the car a 6/10.

I love the driving, software is fine, locks could be more responsive but they are good enough for me. Quality of components is where the vehicle falls short. Drivers seat bottom has worn through (at 30k miles). Lucid is replacing it under warranty, once I can get an appointment that works. I worry about the other seats. They are used maybe 1/3 as often so if they suffern similar wear they will need replacing around 100k miles and warranty will not be an option. Carpeting on the rear seat backs is thin and not robust and is showing wear.
I assume that's the Pureluxe seats? Mine tore at 11k miles and I had the driver's seat replaced. I've been super careful with it and I've just noticed it's starting to tear again already at just 17k miles.

While mobile service has been great, I don't want to be making them come out and replace it every 10k miles. 😥

If anyone has a good suggestion for a seat cover that doesn't look tacky as hell and doesn't significantly reduce the comfort of these seats, I'd love a link to it...

I would buy a Gravity tomorrow but after looking at the bug list on this forum, I am not ready to beta test their SUV so I will give it another year or two until they get it working properly.
Our Gravity has been great, 9/10, and I would not hesitate to buy again. I waited until Jan 30 to order. 2000 miles in, and we are so happy to have it.
I've had to reboot the infotainment occasionally to get the 360 view back - this may have something to do with Android Auto use IMO.

Our Air was a very good driving experience held back by stable but limited software, 7/10. Gravity's software is 100% better.

This thread is a wonderful example of negativity bias.
Since the large majority of responses are positive, maybe this thread's title should be changed to "Happy? Rate your satisfaction 1-10 scale"

Over my dead Gravity's body! 🙂

Most conflicted feelings I've ever had about a car: a glorious driving and riding experience sullied by never-ending torment from software malfunctions, some of which seriously impede usability.
Exactly this. That averages to 6.5 for me.

Just for the record (transparency, etc.), I didn’t take @hmp10 ’s ratings into account because I didn’t know how to math it.

If you add them up and average it, it’s a 5.5. If you treat each category separately, it’s 8.7. It’s all subjective, but I didn’t want to make assumptions and it didn’t seem like it would make a significant difference in either direction.

For Gravity, if CC was canceled with X or the brakes, just hit the CC on button again and it will resume.
I'll try that. Thanks.
For the record, I looked in the owner's manual for a procedure. It mentions resume, but there is no instruction for how to activate it.

Yeah. 5.5. I suck at math.
But it really doesn’t matter. 5.5 or 6.5.

I may be an outlier, but I’m still happy to get into my ‘23 Air GT - it’s the best car I’ve owned. I’d almost give it 10/10, but given the occasional software quirks, let’s call it 9+/10.

The Gravity software still seems a little less mature than the Air’s but it’s getting pretty solid, and it’s sick a fabulous vehicle that I’d have to give it 9/10 as well.

7/10

1. Great thought on designing efficient car
2. Drive is great in luxury cabin

But that's all about luxury and efficiency. Others don't have these two together.

We have a big example of BUT everything else that sells. Lucid is missing on Sedan version. Learning and implementing shouldn't be a challenge now.

Air Touring 9/10
Gravity GT 7.5/10 : Primarily due to we got a much earlier build than Air, service has been more challenging and more minor software & hardware issues.

Air Touring 9/10
to be completely fair, I have only had a couple problems with my Air that werent a direct result of the car being damaged in service. They aren't that problematic I don't think, at least not the new ones. My water pumps were starting to fail (I guess), but it didn't disable the car.

Speaking about efficiency:
My 2022 Air GT on 19's is exclusively driven in New England year round

Lifetime 3.64 mi/kWh
Drove 218 miles from NY to Boston today in warm weather 70+ mph avg for the drive on Highway assist ( mostly)
4.40 mi/kWh not to shabby for an efficient powerful ride which would range out at 490 miles for the Air with a 112KW battery

My encounter with Lucid started when I wandered into the Lucid Studio in Beverely Hills in early 2021. There, I sat and watch a (ultra-Geeky) video of Rawlinson explaining the construction of the Lucid drive motors. How skin-effect affected the efficiency and on-and-on-and-on! It transformed me back to my freshman and sophomore years of my college days! I walked out of the Lucid Studio thinking, boy, they must make a great car with that kind of knowledge! Indeed, Lucid did!.

But making a great prototype car is a very different challenge than putting a product into high volume manufacturing.

I am a realist as well. I spent almost all of my career developing, putting into very high-volume manufacturing cutting-edge high-tech products. Some days, I sat in front of customers and got beaten senseless about how sloppy and ignorant I was about HW-SW interactions issues, and I humbly learned from my customers on how to do things right.

My opinions are not born out of I am smart. It was the school of hard knocks. Humbly listening to and learning from my customers and implementing in my organization what I learned from these painful (but rewarding) episodes.

My critical comments on Lucid is not that I want to see Lucid fail, quite the opposite. But I don't think they are on the trajectory to succeed. Repeatedly blaming suppliers, lapses in SW releases, lagging infrastructures to tackle a high-volume, low-tolerance mid-size market both in manufacturing and in service. These are the blind-spots Lucid must address. I hope Lucid manage internalize the risks ahead. it is make-or-break time for Lucid. Self-congratulating accolades will not get you there!

Thus far, the Lucid Air and Gravity market are patronized predominantly by well-to-do customers. These folks often own multiple vehicles and is "philosophical" about progress and setbacks. You will find the mid-market to be much less forgiving! The competition will make sure of that!
And yet many here have scored it more than 8/10

Rotate knob 1 up shown below just as you would to raise the cruise control speed. This will resume the cruise control for you.

I have been unable to get this resume feature to work. I push the bar up and instead of resuming it sets a new speed based on the car's current speed. What am I doing wrong? Should I just put my thumb on the knurled part and not the bar?

Are you pressing the button (either purposefully or inadvertently)? Pressing the button will set the cruise speed.

Your last statement, "I would buy a Gravity
This, unfortunately, is the same experience with the Air vis-a-vis, "not quite ready for prime time"! The Air took 4 years to get to where it is at

Your last statement, "I would buy a Gravity tomorrow but after looking at the bug list on this forum, I am not ready to beta test their SUV so I will give it another year or two until they get it working properly." is almost verbatim what Scott of OoS said in their 5,000 mile Gravity review video.

This, unfortunately, is the same experience with the Air vis-a-vis, "not quite ready for prime time"! The Air took 4 years to get to where it is at today. In that period, its value is down by 70+%! THAT, "not-ready-for-prime-time", is Lucid's biggest obstacle to command a premium in a very competitive market, especially with the mid-size offerings!
Not only did I not buy a gravity, I just traded it in my air for a Tesla model Y. Part of my decision was my comfort factor with a car that seats as low as it does, but a major factor was the fact that Lucid has laid off 30% of their employee since the first of the year and last week fired the whole C suite. I’m quite happy with the model Y, and while it is not quite as luxurious as a Lucid, the technology is miles ahead. By the way, my fully loaded air was given a trade-in value of $53,500. It was a dramatic depreciation price for lucid that was less than two years old.
