I’ve been lucky as I generally don’t see the blue ovals in my seating position.

For me, it’s a summer problem. I think I can count on one hand how many times I’ve seen the reflections on the last 2 to 3 months. Over summer though it was 2 to 3 times a week.

So. I finally finished putting the Alcantara material on the top of the HUD frame. From what I can see it has totally eliminated the HUD frame reflection in the windshield, although today is not a sunny day (we’re about to get snow in Atlanta).

Pic 2: Alcantara applied to top and inside walls of HUD frame. No reflections, although, overcast day. Will need to take a pic on a sunny day. For comparison you can still see the dash defrost vent reflection in the windshield on the right.

Looking at the baseline pic, it appears that the right side of the picture with the dash vent is much more noticeable in this pic vs the ones after adding the alcantara. Interested in seeing pic of new dash on similar sunny conditions. I’ll have to say that your install looks better than I thought it might.

wow..you did an awesome job! It really does eliminate 95%+ of that awful reflection

It’s supposed ro be sunny on Monday, after the storm of the decade passes…

Just test drove one with a HUD. Omg. Blue blob is horrible. So glad I test drove it. Lighting is cool but no thanks.
 
It was also a 2025 gravity. I wonder if they fixed the blue reflection on the 2026s

Although I will say I've never seen the blue reflections on mine, even on very sunny days here in SoCal. The reflection of the frame is always there in daylight, even the last few days when it's been very overcast.
 
So interesting how you’ve never seen it. I mean it’s unbearable. See it even with shades on. Even from the passenger seat. I don’t know how they can sell it with this issue. SA is like “yea, it’s pretty bad”. Lol. Too bad cause the lighting is really nice. I’m sure on future versions they’ll either fix it or make the dynamic lighting a separate option. Probably right after I take delivery. I can bet on it.

I think it's limited to only some Gravity, maybe something with the alignment of the lens or cover inside? I've seen it in another Gravity but not in mine.
 
Weird. I can’t take the risk of buying a car with a potential blue image in front of my face while trying to drive lol. I mean you can still drive. I’m slightly overreacting but it’s not good.

FWIW the test drive Gravity are mostly older built ones and I feel like I don't see many people with later builds complaining about it so it might be a quality control thing from earlier builds.
 
Perhaps but who knows because Lucid never confirmed it as an issue or one that they fixed so where does that leave me/consumers considering the tech package?
 
The blue reflection depends on seating position. I was able to find a comfortable seating position without the blue reflection. This may not be possible for some people.

I don't think you're overreacting. There's been a plethora of reports of owners experiencing this distracting blue oval on this and other forums. They had a cloth cover over the HUD on the Gravity I test drove. I decided to skip the tech package on my order, especially when they decoupled the power outlets, which I definitely want.
And ya, the lighting is fun but kind of distracting driving at night. I noticed the same thing in my wife's Taycan and the Macan loaner she had. IMO the high position of the main screen is "head's up" enough so I don't think I'm missing out on anything
 
Thanks. The car was drivable, it was just annoying and a little unreal this is a thing on such an expensive car or really any car.

They have confirmed it as an issue but have not figured out a way to rectify the problem so for those saying it’s fixed, it’s not! You complain about blue ovals at the Service Center and you’re basically told “Within Spec”

I depends on the outside light conditions and positioning of the seat.
 
I don’t know. It was overcast today and I saw it the whole time. Both my wife and I drove in two different seating positions. No difference.
