If you complete the 2026 "Design Yours" configurator, there is a new footnote on the review screen. Sign of things to come?

1. Some infotainment or connected vehicle features require enhanced vehicle wireless connectivity, which is included for the first year of ownership.

I see. The verbage is different for both the 2025 configurator and Gravity:

1. Some infotainment or connected vehicle features require premium connectivity.

However you're right and I see that other thread contains the current 2026 verbage I thought was new. I wonder why they keep futzing with it.

Just like with EA eventually they're going to get around to billing for it. It just isn't developed yet.

makes sense, u can even download their updates on their data, a bill for Lucid has to be adding up

I'm fine with paying for enhanced connectivity . . . as long as I get a rebate for all the time the Lucid can't get a signal from AT&T's sketchy network coverage.

Not to worry. There's nothing enhanced about AT&T's connectivity ....

It’s car connectivity in general. I’ve had cars with Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T and they’re all had coverage issues even though my phones that use Verizon and AT&T have full coverage. It makes me wonder if they’re actually de-prioritizing the traffic vs what your phone on the same network can get.

I really wish automakers would just abandon this strategy and allow you to tether your phone to the car or at least make it an option. Prime example is if your car supports 4G and the network is shut down you’re not dead in the water if you can tether your phone.

I'm confused, what's stopping you from doing that now? Lucids can connect to WiFi, just make a hotspot from your phone.

I won't mind paying a Enhanced Connectivity subscription, but the AT&T coverage in Seattle is so bad that it would be a very hard sell. The Model 3 I had before had access to multiple networks and it worked great. I hope Lucid can expend their connectivity support beyond AT&T and hope that if it can't be deployed through OTT, it could be as "simple" as a sim card swap.

Can’t do that *and* CarPlay, right? Or maybe you can do Wired CarPlay…

Honestly I bought a Starlink mini and a few suction cups 🤷‍♂️

At least the newer TCUs have an eSIM, so should be easier to swap. The old TCUs have a physical SIM, so would be more annoying.

I'm not sure. I can tether my laptop to my phone with wireless CarPlay running, but I'm not sure if you can have the car connected to the phone while the phone is connected to the car... Certainly you could still do wired CarPlay.
