With all the crazy incentives this month, I am about to pull the trigger on a Touring or Pure but am a little confused regarding whether there are any differences between these models other than RWD single motor and battery size (and the resulting weight, speed and range differences). Are there any (I looked at the comparison chart?

I test drove a 2024 Pure which did not have 360 degree camera view or turn signal cameras and a 2025 Touring but the Salesperson said that the 2025 Pure has the 360 degree camera view and turn signal cameras. All other things being equal, I prefer the extra range over the speed and AWD (especially in Southern California) but want to make sure I am not missing out on something (as the Touring cost increase is negligible especially since Lucid is crediting you half the difference this month).

Also, one of the things giving me pause are all the QC complaints I have seen on YouTube and on this forum (door unlock/ nav and infotainment/ fit and finish/ rattles/ wireless phone charger/ etc.). Is the consensus that most of these are fixed in 2025. I'm coming from a Tesla Model S so am used to dealing with some issues but I was one of the lucky ones who only had 1 or 2 things that got fixed the first month and no problems since.

Thanks!

Door unlock can occasionally be annoying, sometimes taking a few seconds. Certainly not a dealbreaker for me. I've found the fob to be more reliable (fewer waits) than the phone key, but the phone is handier.

Native navigation works OK it your destination is a place with a street address rather than just a name. Many choose to use Apple Maps or Google Maps or Waze through CarPlay. If you are an Android phone / Google Maps user, you'll find the Air's native nav to be pretty rough. Android Auto should be coming along by OTA someday soon to provide a workaround.

Infotainment software in general is due for a big OTA update based on changes made for Gravity. I'm hoping it will come later this year.

Fit and finish are generally very good. My 2022 GT still drives very tight. I have never had it in for service except for two scheduled annual visits.

The wireless phone charger is marginal depending on your phone and case; some owners have 3D printed wedges to make it work better. I just plug my phone in for the rare times I want to charge while driving.

360 view is dependent on which options you have regardless Pure or Touring...

Actually DreamDrive Premium is standard now on all Airs. So they should all have the 360. (But: be sure to confirm that with the car you choose….they had a bunch of early-2025-year builds with only the basic DreamDrive for a while in late 2024, and some may be lingering! I imagine most have disappeared by now, but if perchance it says just DreamDrive, then no 360…)

But yes, DDPro adds lidar and modest (yet generally very effective!) highway assist (basically active lane keeping and lane changes on when triggered).

If you don’t need AWD, and efficiency is more important than a lot of power, you’ll want the Pure. Less motor noise for sure (even with the new front motor dampening on ‘25s—for me, the motor whine is modest but consistent, mainly from 30-45mph). I switched my Pure order for a ‘25 Touring that became available, figuring AWD would help some here in Maine (though I don’t drive in bad conditions), and would surely help resale value here…..but I often question that choice. Still, no regrets—love the car and hanging tight to my resale theory!

I have a 2025 Pure. I recently drove a 2025 Touring for 2 1/2 weeks. While I enjoyed the glass canopy (major model difference not available with the Pure), I prefer my Pure. It’s just more enjoyable to drive. I find it more responsive, smoother, quieter, cozier and accelerates just as fast.

Thanks for the perspective. I wouldn’t have thought the Pure would hold up to the Touring. Have you driven a Grand Touring?

I can’t imagine not having the acceleration of the higher trim models. But maybe the range/other driving dynamics make it have better road feel. (Not that I don’t love the road feel of my current cars) I freaking do.

Pretty sure I’m Lucid Addicted…

Twraps also makes this:

I have it and absolutely love it. The stock chargers ruined one of my phone cases.

I agree, this is nicely implemented. The built in chargers are pretty tight for phones in cases, and mine seemed to get hotter than usual. This also allows 2 phones to wirelessly charge, which the car does not. Also way easier to glance at screen if needed.

It’s slightly awkward to pivot it up to access things stored underneath; I’m getting the hang of it…..sometimes simpler to lift it totally out for easier access.

Thanks, I noticed that my phone with a fairly standard MagSafe case did not charge in either of the cars in the showroom so it is good to know that something like this works and improves the OEM by adding the 2d wireless charger (even if a third party solution). I'm coming from a 2021 Tesla Model S and want to move on from Tesla so that is one less thing I would be losing by making the transition to the Lucid Air.

My main worry reading threads on this forum and seeing some reviews is QC and it seems like it is a bit of a roll of the dice. Anyone have experience with the Torrance Service Center (closest to me about an hour away). I wish my only remaining decision was between massaging seats or leather seats.

Quality is much better, all the wrinkles have been ironed out in the 2925 models. Touring you get a power frunk which I really like! The AWD in my opinion makes the car more “solid and planted”. With Pure it’s more throwable. Depends on what you prefer. Both great options.
