Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Touring

Are you picking up in Millbrae? Do we have the same DA? How much did you grease his skids lol. Still nothing for me.

Well the good news is they are getting built so this seems like more a comms gap than anything. Maybe i'll get a call today.
I would call your DA and raise holy hell. You have the exact same build as me and ordered yours 4 months ahead of me. We both finalized on the same date. I'm being handled out of Costa Mesa. Hope your DA gives you a VIN and leaves you a little red-faced. Fingers crossed.

For my very own Stellar White, we're seeing 100% of the Santa Cruz fully loaded with VINs. No Tahoe yet.
Joec - the tracker probably doesn’t reflect my switch from White/Tahoe to White/Santa Cruz. Still no VIN for me! DA has gone silent since the switch but he had indicated delivery as early as next week.

Sounds like you’re on my same track as I am - also white and switched from Tahoe to Santa Cruz on Tuesday. The change was finally reflected on my lucid portal this morning. Have been trying to reach my DA who said the delivery might be as early as next week but I’ve been unable to reach him since Tuesday - by phone or email. Hope the rest of my delivery goes quickly like yours! Congrats and how are you liking the Santa Cruz?
So far it’s great. Good Luck and Congrats. Once it got close I couldn’t think about anything else 😂

Fixed. Thanks for reminding me. I missed that update.

If they are saying delivery next week, I wonder why they haven't handed over the VIN yet? They must know it by now. Anyway, looking forward to putting you down for delivered.

Tell me about it. I have many other things I should be thinking about right now, but I just don't seem to care much.

My Costa Mesa DA told me yesterday that my QG/SC AT should arrive by Monday-ish and be ready for pickup by Friday-ish ... crossing fingers!!!

Looking at page one on our tracker, and it's so cool to see the movement. We have 5 confirmed deliveries now, which might not seem like much, but for those who were around all of this year watching the Grand Touring tracker, you'd know seeing VINs become deliveries this quick is actually a massive improvement. I also expect to be adding my own car to that completed list in a matter of days, and we know of a few others who are taking delivery very soon.

Also seeing lots of VINs now (in every color but Black, unfortunately). With more coming almost daily this week.

Looking closer at Black, I can see there are no fully loaded with Santa Cruz interiors on that list, so that makes a bit more sense. Hopefully some black Tahoes will get their VINs in the coming days.

Looking at some of the other colors, I can see all the fully loaded Silvers with Santa Cruz now have VINs. And even some Tahoe now have VINs.

Fully loaded Zenith Red Santa Cruz interiors are getting close, but there are still some outstanding VINs there. But there are also a few Tahoes there, so hopefully those Santa Cruz cars will be getting VINs soon.

For my very own Stellar White, we're seeing 100% of the Santa Cruz fully loaded with VINs. No Tahoe yet.

And for Grey, we have a good number of fully loaded Santa Cruz, but not all yet. And one fully loaded Tahoe.

Let's hope those VINs keep coming. If the pattern holds, everyone with a VIN right now has a great chance of EOY delivery, I think. Anyone getting a VIN next week still has a decent shot, too.

Best wishes to everyone still waiting at whatever stage you happen to be waiting right now. Yes, every step of this process is mostly waiting around hoping, which totally sucks, but everyone on this thread can relate. So take advantage of our communal understanding.

I feel like when all the waiting is over and we have our cars, we should have an intramural softball match, or something. Tourings vs Grand Tourings. I think we can take 'em.
Thanks for all the work you and the team have been doing running this Forum and maintaining these Trackers... Regarding the Tourings, do you have any way of estimating the total number of Tourings by color that have been ordered? Would be interesting to see what percentage of the new owners we have in this Forum community!

Well I am millbrae instead of Costa Mesa, I will give him the rest of the day lol.

Maybe I should move to Orange County…

Timing the market never works! But you may end up shooting yourself in the foot if stock shots up in 31 days, knowing how volatile LCID is. That’s why I’m never selling LCID, even for tax loss harvesting.
If you wish to hurt yourself economically, that is your choice. The chances that LCID will shoot up dramatically in 31 days (though possible) is remote.

A good poker player like a good stock investor makes bets when the odds favor him. If you wish to ignore the odds and not take advantage of reducing your tax burden for this year then of course that's up to you.

Your statement "timing the market never works" is also incorrect. Yes it is hard to time the market, but not impossible. I quit my profession at age 51 and went full time self trading in stocks. I will be 75 this month and for the last 24 years I have been investing by timing the market. There have been times where I call it wrong, but overall, I have done extremely well. There are also certain fund managers that have also consistently beat the market averages by timing the market, so yes it can be done.

Investing in a bear market when everybody has given up hope has been a time proven method of making excellent returns which in itself is timing the market.

I will never tell you what to do, that is for each of us to decide, but some of your statements are flat out incorrect. "Timing the market never works" is a silly statement to make. Timing the market is hard to do is much more descriptive and accurate.

Plus trying to disparage someone else on this board who wishes to reduce his taxes by selling and buying back does not deserve your "Geez" comment.

You should stick with your area of expertise and not make disparaging comments on subjects that you apparently know very little about.

As an aside, if you are so concerned about LCID shooting up within 31 days after you sold it, you can always utilize options to protect yourself from missing out.

Very exciting for the Touring folks! deliveries have started! Had to kick myself out of the Touring club so I'll live vicariously through you guys

Have any black Tourings been assigned a vin? I’m thinking of switching colors to get better odds for eoy delivery. The 7.5k credit is pretty important to me.

I apologize, let me rephrase, timing the market doesn't work for " most " people. I NEVER trade. I'm an investor, buy companies I belive in strongly and hardly sell. Being a trader, I understand why you want to sell since guess I you made gains on your past trades. I had the notion you were not a professional trader but an investor who has another main source of income. Perhaps you should sell something other than LCID, considering it has bottomed and there is no where to go except up! Many VINS coming today, deliveries will hit a record this quarter. I'm expecting $300 million on 2000 deliveries- this is the low end. Next year if ramp up contnues they will make 2 billion next year, average cost 100k, 20k deliveries. Don't listen to the lies Tesla fanboys and Ego Musk put out. With the pure, demand will be huge all over the WORLD!

I would switch color if year end is important. My DA said I should get my ZR by year end, but this time did not gaurantee, VIN arrived a week beyond his original prediction.

My DA is going to keep checking and give me a call early next week if my VIN doesn't show up this weekend. He asked me to give it a few more days and I agreed. We're both still pretty dumbfounded tho.
I really hope they can get you a VIN and subsequently your car very soon! Spoke to the DA in Tysons and he said the place was a madhouse so I have my fingers crossed for ya that it will show up PDQ. 🤞
